AMORPHIS: Munich Footage Posted Online - Nov. 10, 2009

"Skyforger", the new album from AMORPHIS, sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Skyforger" entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 1. Released on May 29 via Nuclear Blast Records (May 27 in Finland), the follow-up to the "Eclipse" and "Silent Waters" LPs, both of which were certified gold in the band's native Finland, was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki.

	seems like they are often forgotten, which is unfortunate because they are strong song writers.

	These guys are indeed an amazing band and more diverse than 99% of anyone else out there. They need to get over here to the U.S. soon though.

	Amorphis is great. I really dig Skyforger, but there's a little part of me that hopes they go in a different direction with their next album. Eclipse, Silent Waters, and Skyforger sound like they all could have been the same album. good albums mind you, just pretty similar.

	Well, the three albums were meant to be a trilogy, so it's understandable why they have a similar sound. I absolutely adore Amorphis. Skyforger has been the album of the year (thus far) for me. I hope they tour the US sometime soon.
