MUDVAYNE: Two Songs From New Album Available For Streaming - Nov. 10, 2009
Two songs — "Scream With Me" and "Heard It All Before" — from the forthcoming self-titled album from MUDVAYNE are available for streaming below. Reportedly the first album to ever use blacklight-reactive ink (making it only visible under a black light), the CD's cover image was created by world-renowned tattoo king Paul Booth.

Every bit of art and text in the packaging of the record will be printed on ink that can only be seen under a black light.

Commented Booth: "This project has been absolutely killer to work on! The whole black light concept was totally experimental and quite the challenge, so of course, as an artist, I was drawn to it like a moth to a bugzapper."

He added, "I am happy to see bands focusing more energy on their album art… something I thought the Internet had killed. Hailz to MUDVAYNE and everyone at the label for going the extra mile!"

The album will be available in the following formats:

***1. Super Deluxe - "Limited-edition" run of only 1,000 copies which will be sold direct to the consumer from the band's site. Pre-order it at Mudvayne.com starting next Tuesday, November 10 and receive the digital album two weeks before release!

It contains:

a. The deluxe version of the album
b. The album on glow-in-the-dark vinyl (also blacklight-reactive)
c. A 24-inch blacklight
d. A 24x24 poster designed by Paul Booth in blacklight-reactive ink
e. An 8x8 blacklight-reactive decal designed by Paul Booth

***2. Deluxe – "Limited-edition" first run of 100,000 copies. Pre-order it at Mudvayne.com starting Tuesday, November 24 and receive the digital album two weeks before release!

It contains:

a. The album in jewel case
b. A LED, keychain-sized blacklight
c. Special blacklight-reactive packaging designed by Paul Booth

***3. Vinyl

a. Glow-in-the-dark vinyl (also blacklight-reactive)
b. Blacklight-reactive art designed by Paul Booth

***4. Jewel Case

a. Blacklight-reactive art designed by Paul Booth

Due on December 22 via Epic, "Mudvayne" has been described by drummer Matt McDonough as "the best" CD "the band has recorded since our second album, 'The End Of All Things to Come'." The album was produced by Dave Fortman's (SLIPKNOT, EVANESCENCE) right-hand man, Jeremy Parker, and is "a little more retro for MUDVAYNE" from a songwriting point of view, according to singer Chad Gray. "We've been kind of making this natural progression, and I think for this one, we just sort of naturally regressed," he told Noisecreep. "We took the smarter songwriting guys that we've become and mixed it with the not-smart songwriting guys that we were ... I mean, we used to just take 20 parts, cram it together, and call it a song. Over time, playing in a band, you kind of know what to expect. It doesn't really make it easier, but you kind of have this thing in your head that you kind of know where you're going. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel before entering the tunnel. It's faint, and dim, but it's there."

MUDVAYNE's fourth studio album, "The New Game", has sold more than 200,000 copies in the United States since it came out in November 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD shifted 48,000 units in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 15 on The Billboard 200 chart.

scream with me is another disappointing song from mudvayne. there is almost zero experimentation with this band anymore which is what set them apart from most groups in the first place. different time signatures, fusing a few different genres. just praying to get on the next disturbed, 5 finger death punch tour i guess.

now back to existence is futile, revocation's new album. check it out for easily one of 2009's best releases.

I like "heard it all before" . New Game was a horrid album IMO.
where are the tracks like "IMN" "F...ing Determined" the killer riffs that were on "Lost and Found" I hope they see thier way back to the self titled disc, I'll pick this one up on day 1.

Solos are fucking awesome, the first song isn't anything special but Heard it All Before is killer. I hope this album is better than The New Game, I will have to give it a listen before I buy it so far not bad.

Heard it all before isn't a bad song, especially the first minute or so. Feels like old Mudvayne. Scream with me, however, sounds like a Hell Yeah track. Not really my thing.

Wow, "Scream With Me" sucks balls. This song embodies everything that has gone wrong with Mudvayne since 'The End Of All Things to Come'. I suppose if I had a vagina, I might like this song more than I do.

"Heard It All Before" is in the right spirit, but I'm still not sure it's a true sign that there is hope for this new album.

a cross between new game and lost and found songwriting wise, with the production of the second album.

I must admit, Mudvayne's second album had some of the worst production of that time. It was seriously bad. compressed beyond belief.

'Lost and Found' was an underrated record. Sure it was more commercial, but at least it was heavy.

When did they become Days of the new TOOL?

I thought they were a METAL band

Mudvavne did make an appearance in the Janis Figure film:

"In Search of the Ghoul"

I suggest all of you Mudvayne fans look for this film, kickass Mudvayne footage on that film

The new single is cool, its better than the ballad type sonsg from the new game and im glad its pretty short too. The lead work is a plus regarding new mudvayne but on the whole, the song writing isnt as good as the first two which are the best ones.

I wish slipknot and mudvayne would make something alittle more like their 1st and /or 2nd albums with the guitar work and lead of their latter. That would be a better mix

Heard it all before is the best out of the 3, it has a nice pantera feel to it, especially the last riff. I wonder if Vinnie Paul hinted he'd like mudvayne more if they solo'd. Dime said something similar to munkey or head from KoRn once upon a time...

Mudvayne used to be my favorite band but I think it's time to accept that they will never do anything as good as L.D.50 again even if they say they are on every record they put out. I won't be buying any more albums from this band after I wasted money on the last few albums. Massive disappointment.

That the song everyone seems to like("Heard it all before") is talking about the same thing everything commented on about "Scream with me". The simple fact is, musicians have their whole lives to write their first album and get rushed for every single album after. Unless, of course, you're Tool, Meshuggah or any of the other bands that have the full say on everything. Mudvayne do not have this say. With that in mind, they are still one of my favorites. While I am not a fan of all the songs, there are those moments of LD50 and TEOFATTC in every album since. I blame EPIC for rushing them into multiple albums in a year. I don't blame Mudvayne for rushing. I might do the same thing to get the man off my back and then do everything I want once I have 100% control. I think we will get another LD50 type album and it will be released independent of a label. That said, Scream With me has great lyrics but the music sounds like HellYeah. Meh. Heard it all Before could have been on LD. It kicks ass. I want more of that.
