LAMB OF GOD On 'Uranium'; Video Available
- Nov. 11, 2009
"Uranium", which is exclusively available on Fuse On Demand, recently conducted an interview with Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD.
The full interview is available all November long only on Fuse on Demand.
Watch a clip of the episode below.
In a recent interview with ChartAttack.com, LAMB OF GOD bassist John Campbell was asked how he finds balancing large arenas while touring with METALLICA with playing smaller venues with GWAR. "Honestly, I can't wait to get back to the clubs," he replied. "The arenas sound really dead onstage. I mean, it's cool shit. There are tons of people to watch out there while playing onstage at arenas with METALLICA all the time. But for me, the performer onstage when it's your PA and it's open, it's a lot more fun. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade this for anything. Plus, it's fun playing for an audience that doesn't necessarily know what to expect from you. So we do that for a week and then we get to go back to our fans at our shows and play to a room packed full of people screaming the words back at us."
When asked what he has learned from METALLICA, as far as how they conduct themselves on tour, Campbell replied, "They're a lot more down to earth than you would think. They're very personable. They've brought us out for dinner and drinks, they hang out in the dressing room sometimes, you know. It's been a pretty amazing run for us to have this opportunity."

Does anyone agree that Lamb Of God has gotten way more attention than they deserve? They are not original and they are by no means excellent at what they do. People love them though! I just don't get it....

Willie's blowing up, yo! His brother's pretentious as hell. The band is a singer away from being excellent. He drags them down.
They are really starting to show their age. I really like Lamb Of God but I couldn't get into the last record at all. It was missing something and it seemed to commercial, so I guess they recorded it separately you can really tell. Sacrament was great but the new album was just to far from their roots for me.

I agree with your comment. Anyone who doesn't agree is in denial.

If LoG are so overreatted then who would you suggest deserves their attention. I personally think they deserve every bit of success as 1 they are instantly recognisable from their unique sound and 2 they have brought a real thrash sound to a mainstream audience (and this will no doubt upset a few people) but in a similar way Slipknot brought a very hard sound to the mainstream (albeit to water it down significantly once they got there).
It seems LoG are now everyone's favourite band to slag off!!!

What are you guys on about? Lamb of god deserve all the attention they get, they write awesome guitar riffs, the drums are blindingly good, the vocals are bog-standard metal but they do the job. Their groove style is a bit too close to Panera but who cares, there is no Pantera anymore (R.I.P) so it's nice to have a good band filling that gap. On top of all this though, they f**king rock live. I've seen them at fests and clubs and i wasn't a big fan when i saw them first but that first gig turned me. They are a good band. And the last album is brutal, not their best, but still a great record.

Slayer deserves to get Lamb of God's attention. Aside from the vocals, Lamb of God is nothing more than a Slayer rip-off. It is so blatent, it makes me sick.

LoG are popular for a reason and it's not because they sound like Slayer (which they don't) or because Wrath has a mainstream sound (which it doesn't). Are you effing kidding me? Any person not accustomed to listening to metal would run out of the room screaming if you tried to make them listen to "Set to Fail." Also, douchebags, Randy's vocals are exactly what helps set this band apart. And unlike Slipknot they aren't getting softer with each release. I think it is absolutely killer that a band this heavy has caught on in such a major way.
COMMENT | Slayer Rip-off?! posted by : ninuzzu 11/12/2009 9:44:36 AM
What in the fuck are you on about? They don't sound a fucking thing like Slayer! Seriously, how can you even compare the two? The vocals sound nothing alike, the drumming is totally different, both bands write great riffs, but in their own styles. Man, have you been listening to this stuff with your head jammed up your ass?
I thought Wrath was fantastic, the comparisons to Pantera are just weak and lazy (I think), they absolutely have their own sound, and if you don't like the vocals, well then don't fucking listen to them. It is all subjective, ie a matter of taste, afterall.
More attention than they deserve? What the hell does that even mean? If they are touring and releasing records, then they will promote them, and media will cover them. It's hardly like they are saturating the public ala Britney or other such horrid shit.
Chris Adler comes across as overly serious, but I wouldn't say he's pretentious. If you watch their DVDs you'll see he's just as down to earth as the rest of them.
Before the slagging starts, I just want to point out that I'm not a blindly loyal fanboy. I just read some of these comments, and think that they deserve some rational counterpoints (not that it fucking really matters).

Agreed.
Also this band sounds nothing like Slayer. AT ALL.
Some metal heads are the biggest bunch of idiots on the planet. The negative idiots here complain more about bands than actually enjoying them.
Take the metal for what it is...

Personally I feel that Lamb of God are the band that should carry the torch that Pantera once carried. They are one of the few bands that have not gone soft once they got a taste of success. They keep it raw and heavy, and make the music for themselves. And while some of you bash Wrath and praise Sacrament. I’m the opposite, I thought they tried to go to commercial with Sacrament, by adding vocal affects and a too much melodic shit. With Wrath I felt they went back to their As the Palaces Burn style, (my personal fav. Album) by using that more raw, thrashier, approach. For me I personally I like Wrath more for being a faster, heavier Lamb of God. The main reason I think they are as popular as they are is their live performance, there is no touching Lamb of God. Their sound is always spot on, and they always get the crowd worked up into a frenzy, as well if not better than the former kings, Pantera. Everytime I have seen Lamb, weather it was at a club show back in the day, or at Ozzfest, or the Massive Theatres they are now packing on their own. The pits roll like none other, and I totally live for that shit. The only other band I have ever seen get a 100 – 150 man pit just going ape shit, was Pantera. Sit down and listen to As the Palaces Burn, all the way though 2 or 3 times. If you don’t dig that shit, then in my eyes your not a Metal head.
COMMENT | Once again, rip-off posted by : Chalice 11/12/2009 1:37:49 PM
I saw this band prior to them being Lamb of God...when they were Burn the Priest. That was much more original than what they are doing now. I saw Lamb of God 5 years ago. My friends and I were shocked at how the riffs were plucked right out of Reign in Blood and South of Heaven, as well as many drum beats and cymbal hits. Please, people. It seems to me, that many American listeners have been programmed by the multitude of copy-cat bands that the labels are pushing. As far as "taking the metal for what it is"....that is the kind of thinking that has bred the endless metalcore and emo bands. Congratulations.

fuck you chalice. Just ccause emo/metalcore bands are here we also got Metallica, Testament, Slayer, and a shitton of other bands.and whts the deal with everybody hating on America? i dont get it.
COMMENT | Fivefingerdouchebag posted by : Chalice 11/12/2009 2:36:20 PM
Yeah, we do have a "shitton" of other bands. It's a goddamn assembly line. It isn't like it was in the days of the bands that you mentioned. No one cares about originality in this country anymore. I'm not hating America....I'm hating the industry and the people that fall in line and bend over. I've tried to listen to some of the new bands. But I just keep on going back to the old ones.

I would ask if you are high but all the cool kids who are high know LOG and Slayer sound nothing alike,... oh wait, it's the fucking crack huh. I knew it, it's always the crack talking when you come on here and say Lamb of God is being held back by their singer. Always, unless of course it is the lack of oxygen in your brain from sitting in your room trying to sing like DragonForce whilst masturbating......on crack, cocaine. Lamb of God are sick, shut up and go away now.
COMMENT | Yourdaddydipshit posted by : Chalice 11/12/2009 3:38:24 PM
What a class-A retort. People on Blabbermouth tend to act like schoolyard bullies alot. Probably because they truly are talking from the schoolyard. I know metal. I've been listening to it since 1983. Just like Lamb of God, I don't care for DragonForce, either. Power metal bands are also a dime a dozen. I'd rather just put in an Iron Maiden or Manowar album.
And so sorry....I only masturbate while listening to Elvis.

Also just wanna say that i've had the oppurtunity to meet all these guys and hang out with chris at a show and they're all just regular, down to earth people.
