Sacha Gervasi — the director of
"Anvil! The Story of Anvil", a mockumentary-like true account of fiftysomething Canadian heavy-metal practitioners
Robb Reiner and
Steve "Lips" Kudlow who, after a desultory European tour with their band
ANVIL, decide to record a 13th album in a final attempt to fulfill their boyhead dreams of stardom — recently spoke to the
MakingOf web site (see video below) about
ANVIL's upcoming movie debut in
"The Green Hornet".
ANVIL performed one of its songs in a scene in
Michel Gondry's new hero film that featured the members of the group exploding on stage at a rock club.
In an October 2 appearance on
WJCU's
"Metal On Metal" radio show,
Lips told host
Bill Peters that
"The Green Hornet" would feature the band playing either the title track to its forthcoming CD,
"Juggernaut Of Justice", or
"Flying Blind" from the group's latest album,
"This Is Thirteen".
In
"The Green Hornet", based on the '30s-radio-series-turned-'60s-television-show of the same name,
Seth Rogen plays
Britt Reid, newspaperman by day, masked crime-fighter by night.
According to
People magazine,
Rogen and costar
Jay Chou are currently shooting the movie — due for release early next year — in Los Angeles.
