SLAYER, MEGADETH: New 'Canadian Carnage' Dates Announced - Nov. 16, 2009

Canadian concert promoters Gillett Entertainment Group (Groupe Spectacles Gillett) have announced the new dates for the "Canadian Carnage" tour featuring SLAYER and MEGADETH. The trek, which was originally due to begin on November 8, was called off after SLAYER frontman Tom Araya was ordered to undergo an immediate surgical procedure for a back injury, thought to be related to his on-stage activity.

Feb. 16 - Colisée Pepsi - Quebec City, QC
Feb. 19 - Air Canada Centre - Toronto, ON
Feb. 20 - Centre Bell - Montreal, QC
Feb. 22 - Moncton Coliseum - Moncton, NB
Feb. 23 - Metro Centre - Halifax, NS

San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans TESTAMENT are being billed as "special guests" for the Toronto show, and are likely to be part of the other dates on the trek as well.

Despite MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover's recent denial that the band will embark on another U.S. tour in February with SLAYER, TESTAMENT and HIGH ON FIRE, rumors continue to swirl that a trek featuring those groups is in the process of being booked.

	I wonder if Shawn denied that upcoming tour because he was asked to do so--out of fears that people won't buy tickets to the current Megadeth tour and will instead wait for the later one w/Slayer. But since the current US tour skips major markets (no Philadelphia, Baltimore, etc, etc) I'm sure it's not a big deal. Just my $0.02.

	...fake metal isn't welcome here in Toronto, or Canada for that matter. Especially Slayer. Man, ANY pop metal is better than them. Shit, any pop music period is better than them. And I don't even like pop music. Slayer. Why bother guys? Isn't there enough hatred in the world, now you gotta 'sing' about it for 20 years. Screw you. Slayer sucks. Period. Go home and stay there.

	slayer megadeth and testament...... FAKE METAL????? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON DUDE??????????? even if you don't like them, how the fuck are they fake metal? all 3 of those bands are METAL LEGENDS. PURE METAL speaking as a Torontonian, this metal is MOST welcome here. we get all kind of amazing club shows here as well (latest being Arch Enemy, Exodus, Arsis) but it's excellent to see 3 giant LEGENDS of metal play together, and at a large venue, the A.C.C. so yeah, anyway, you're completely fucked

	This is awesome. With the addition of Testament and not having to deal with Suicide Silence and the pretend angry emo kids that enjoy them, this show just got a whole lot better.
