MAYHEM Arrested In Holland For Allegedly Destroying A Hotel Room

According to De Telegraaf, members of the Norwegian black metal band MAYHEM and their crew were arrested Monday morning for allegedly causing several thousand dollars in damage to a hotel room in Tilburg, Holland. The group performed Sunday night (November 15) at Hall Of Fame in Tilburg and had booked rooms for the night at Hotel Central. An employee of the hotel arrived Monday morning to find the hotel a big mess. Plants were thrown in the street, mirrors, a sink and curtains in the bathroom were torn apart and demolished. The beds and television were destroyed and walls were covered in spots/stains. The hotel estimates the damage to be at least 5,000 euros (approximately $7,480). The men, aged 21 to 45 years, hail from Netherlands, Norway, Finland and France. The suspects are currently being held at a local jail and will not be released until they have reimbursed the hotel for repair costs.

lots of posts on this one.
I thought smashing hotel rooms was something done back in the 70's and 80's.... Some kind of revival
Anyways, if you're unable to pay for further hotel stays, just get arrested and you get free bed and boarding at the local police.

I don't think someone plainly being an ass, has got anything to do with rock'n'roll. Satyr and Frost make up the best black'n'roll band there is, and I believe it has something to do with the fact they don't drink during tours, and they ensure they actually rest in their rooms.

When a young band who has millions of dollars does this, it's funny because they can just throw piles of money at the mess and make it go away.
When a band who doesn't have millions does this, and goes to jail (and are 40 years old), it's really pathetic.

How do you know who did it? Have you ever been involved in a group situation like this? They take everyone in until it's sorted out.
And if they can't afford a few grand for damages, how are they going to hire a good lawyer to "sue the police" (possible moot point anyway since they're in the EU...don't know how that stuff works there).

it's called: the netherlands, a lot of people also call it holland, but officially holland are 2 provinces in netherland (north holland, south holland).
I just saw in tghe dutch newspaper that they allready payed their bills and are free allready although they will have to pay some money to the state too....
I saw them sature day in the baroeg in rotterdam (netherland), they totally kicked ass, great show. although I think it are a bunch of losers espacially necrobutcher, but the music is still good.
