JUDAS PRIEST's ambient/instrumental track
"Dawn of Creation" from the
"Nostradamus" album was used as an intro to the first leg of VASCO ROSSI's
"Europe Indoor Live in Concert" tour.
VASCO ROSSI's tour will resume in February, with over 30 dates in Italy (including Milan, Turin, Florence) and Europe (Brussels, London, Barcelona, Zurich, Berlin).
Rossi's all-star band features guitarists
Stef Burns (
Y&T) and
Maurizio Solieri (
STEVE ROGERS BAND), drummer
Matt Laug (
SLASH'S SNAKEPIT),
Claudio "Il Gallo" Golinelli (bass),
Alberto "Lupo Maremmano" Rocchetti (keyboards),
Andrea "Cucchia" Innesto (trumpet, background vocals),
Frank Nemola (programming, trumpet, background vocals), and
Clara Moroni (background vocals).
Burns joined forces with
Rossi in 1993, while
Laug was hired in 2007.
Bassist
Tony Franklin (
THE FIRM,
BLUE MURDER,
WHITESNAKE) temporarly replaced
Rossi's bass player at the traditional Italian free mega-concert on May 1, 2009 at Piazza San Giovanni in Rome, where
Vasco Rossi performed a one-off show.
Franklin also played bass on several songs on the last two
Vasco Rossi studio albums, 2005's
"Buoni o Cattivi" and 2008's
"Il Mondo Che Vorrei".
VASCO ROSSI's new single, which is a number one hit in Italy, is a reinterpretation of
RADIOHEAD's
"Creep". The new song is called
"Ad Ogni Costo" (At Any Cost) and the new lyrics are a free and unrelated interpretation of the original music in Italian.
Rossi has already made a reinterpretation of the song
"Celebrate" from Irish alternative rock band
AN EMOTIONAL FISH. The song is called
"Gli Spari Sopra", and it's an hit single and the title track of a studio album from 1993.
