DAVE MUSTAINE: I Have Some Massive News About A Music Project For Me And MEGADETH - Nov. 17, 2009
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"It has been harder thank drinking a twelve-pack of Meisterbrau and not going pee than to keep this tour info [referring to the upcoming 'American Carnage' tour featuring MEGADETH, SLAYER and TESTAMENT] inside. And now you know and I can relax!

"It is true, as I said in my posts and columns, and as you can see . . . all of the clues were there. All that is left is sending positive vibes Tom's [Araya, SLAYER bassist/vocalist] way to assist in his rehabilitating his back, and then, as I like to say, this one ain't over till the fat lady dies!

"Let us remember also that we are out with a very exciting package for just this short, very short run, and we are specifically coming to these less traveled cities to bring MEGADETH metal everywhere we can, and we wanted to see you and you to see us before the end of the year. We have Bay Area heroes MACHINE HEAD out with us, and this tour is really intense. As you can hear at Megadeth Radio, MACHINE HEAD has some fantastic metal songs and some of the heaviest stuff we play on Megs Radio.

"I hope you are digging on all of this great news, and if you can believe it . . . there is more to come. I have some massive news about a music project for me and MEGS, and then we are going to be announcing our plans for South America and for Europe.

"So, now is the time to stay tuned into Megadeth Radio, and to come back here often to see what has happened since you were last here. Call me and the band guys and tell us what is on your minds and your hearts."

lol

When Mustaine heard the rumors about the big 4 he hurried and added Testament to the Megadeth-Slayer tour. By doing so he doesn't have to face the fact that Metallica would be No.1 and Megadeth No. 2 as usual if the Big 4 happened.

By the way

Testament>>>> Slayer/Megadeth

But who will headline? I'm guessing Megadeth is a marginally bigger draw than Slayer? Doesn't really matter, I'll be there.

Just add Exodus and you'd have the heaviest tour in the US in the last 10 years! Good for these bands for setting the egos aside.

Why in the world would they want to add Metallica? Metallica does not deserve to be on this tour - on a side note. They should add OverKill to the tour. That would kick ass.

This will be an awesome tour. I am glad they chose Testament. 3 killer bands firing on all cylinders. No offense to washed up has beens like Anthrax and Exodus. Scott Ians ego and Anthrax's horrible musical library post 91 ruined that band and Exodus is only a shell of there former greatness. Thrash till death.

As far as I'm concerned this is "Thrash of the Titans 2". To me Slayer, Megadeth and Testament are the biggest and best three American 80's thrash metal bands playing today. If Metallica didn't make shit albums like the Black Album, Load, Reload and St. Anger, maybe they would of deserved to be on this tour.

"Testament>>>> Slayer/Megadeth"

+1

One cool thing to do with their scene would be to do a festival in the Bay Area with maybe 8 of the biggest bands from that era, and cut a high quality DVD of the whole event. I'd fly out there to see that.

but I gotta say sumthin bout that radio thing. @nd time I tuned in to hear the Elton John Madman across the water. Pretty cool to play that but twice? I've never tuned in more than 8 times and then I've heard no more than 4-5 songs when I tune in. But I bet this is part of a limited playlist. Sure playing off the wall stuff that doesn't fit the metal category, but I have the idea that this is like a classik thing that has a lot of the hits played over and over. I tune in to nitpick - it WOULD be nice if there were cooler stuff. Right now is Doctor Doctor by UFO. Cool song but I've heard it a zillion times on Radio, Schenker's live CDS, etc, That's the most overplayed song by those guys!. Next I seaer to God is Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak.
Here's some advice: Play UFO's 'Hot and Ready' or Thin Lizzy's 'Thunder and Lightning' or 'Bad Reputation'.

Now is Sab with 'Sab bloody sab' Hey Dave, Why not play Angelwitch or Witchfinder General or Saint Vitus or Solitude Aeturnus?

This oughta be called Megaplayed or Megaoverplayed radio

No Anthrax on the bill is interesting. I'm sure they were asked, I wonder if John Bush couldn't commit to the tour.

Always putting yourself first.

A project "for Me and Megadeth."

"Call ME and the band guys..."

Aren't you in a band called Megadeth? So why not say "...a project for Megadeth"?

And, "Call US and tell US what is on your minds and hearts."

Sigh.

Also, this is the stupidest headline ever. It boils down to "NEWS: THERE IS NEWS"
