EXHORDER Is Back! Photos Of New Orleans Show Posted Online - Nov. 18, 2009
Reactivated legendary New Orleans metallers EXHORDER — cited by many as the originators of the riff-heavy power-groove approach popularized by PANTERA (photo) — returned to the live arena this past Saturday, November 14 at Southport Hall in Jefferson, Louisiana. This marked the band's first live performance since EXHORDER's March 2001 reunion shows at Zeppelin's in Metairie, Louisiana.

The group's encore consisted of a medley of S.O.D.'s "March of the S.O.D.", "Sargent D and the S.O.D." and "United Forces", a cover of the punk rock classic "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight" (by THE REZILLOS) and "Ripping Flesh" from EXHORDER's 1986 "Get Rude" demo — a song they hadn't played since 1989.

EXHORDER's lineup for the Southport Hall date was as follows:

Kyle Thomas - Vocals
Vinnie Labella - Guitar
Jay Ceravolo - Guitar
Chris Nail - Drums
Frankie Sparcello - Bass

Photos of the concert can be found on NolaUnderground.com (scroll down for several sets of pictures). A few of the shots can be viewed below (courtesy of Al Hodge).

Poland's Metal Mind Productions re-released the two albums (1990's "Slaughter in the Vatican" and 1992's "The Law") from EXHORDER in May 2008. Each limited-edition digipack title (limited to 2,000 copies) was made available on golden disc, digitally remastered using 24-bit technology.

They should of reunited and released an album ten years ago.

Do they still have it? Maybe they have a better chance at making it since Pantera is gone.

That show at Southport Hall was the LOUDEST show i'd ever been too. EXHORDER came out swinging and they didn't stop! They were tight and brutal! Kyle commanded the stage and was the LORD OF METAL!!! Vinnie, Jay, and Chris didn't let up either and Frankie was a MONSTER on the bass. It was great to see them on stage again. EXHORDER is the only band that can get EVERYBODY back home again. (Alot of us are still scattered in different towns all over the place in the wake of K, so this was a huge reunion for all of us back in New Orleans ). They were on fire and I look forward to seeing them again!!!

this Pantera/Exhorder fighting is old. Both bands show respect for each other. shut up and enjoy the music, period.

i was at the show up against the stage. they sounded awesome. i'd put kyle's voice that night up against any metal band playing today.

there was a couple of cam-corders going on and off stage, and a semi-professional looking being manned on-stage. i'm hoping they make a DVD of this

at the end of the show the bass player dove into the crowd and cut my friends face. haha metal up your ass

Not buying this shit. Tried so many times to get into them, but this band blows. Their songs are just a bunch of useless crap riffs. They have less talent all combined compared to what Dime had in his pinky. I bet they will go to where they were for the past years sooner then later because there will be like 10-20 people at most showing up for the shows. Another crap 3d rate thrash band reunited. Fuck, why?

DIME II, you have no idea what this band's legacy is all about. Just STFU.
