SCORPIONS To Embark On 'Get Your Sting And Blackout' World Tour - Nov. 19, 2009
German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS have announced the following dates as part of their "Get Your Sting And Blackout" world tour:

May 07 - Leipzig, Germany - Arena
May 08 - Munich, Germany - Olympiahalle
May 12 - Frankfurt, Germany - Festhalle
May 14 - Stuttgart, Germany - Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle
May 29 - Berlin, Germany - O2 World
May 30 - Zwickau, Germany - Stadthalle
Jun. 01 - Hannover, Germany - TUI Arena

2009 was the year of the SCORPIONS: they received the German lifetime achievement ECHO, collected many other awards, and undertook a grand tour through Russia, the U.S. and Europe. However, it is 2010 that will set a milestone for the career of the most successful international rock band from Germany. The SCORPIONS will be touring the world for the next two years and performing in the largest venues and stadiums that cross their path. The mammoth tour will be launched for the first time in many years in Germany. "It was important for us to give our fans a chance to celebrate a never-to-forget party with us," said band founder/guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Vocalist Klaus Meine added, "2010 is going to be a very special year for the SCORPIONS, so it is an especially good feeling to be able to start this tour at home."

To top it all off, the SCORPIONS are planning on releasing a sensational statement this January at a press conference.

The performances in Germany will be followed by concerts in the U.S., South America, Asia, Russia and various countries in Europe.

Guitarist Matthias Jabs remarked about the tour, "We are very excited to be touring the globe for the next two years. The SCORPIONS want to rock the world once again!"

SCORPIONS are currently in the recording studio working on their upcoming album that will also be released in 2010. The brand new DVD, "Amazonia - Live In The Jungle" — a live recording of the SCORPIONS concerts in Manaus and Recife, Brazil — is in stores now.

SCORPIONS recently extended their record deal with Ariola, which is part of the international media conglomerate Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

The band's latest CD, "Humanity - Hour 1", was produced by James Michael and co-produced by songwriter/producer Desmond Child, who has worked with such high-profile pop/rock artists as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, ALICE COOPER, KISS, RICKY MARTIN, CHER, MICHAEL BOLTON and BONNIE TYLER.

Schenker released his official German-language autobiography, "Rock Your Life", in Germany on October 14. An English-language version is also planned. More details will be revealed soon.

SCORPIONS took part in a special concert, dubbed "A Night To Remember", on October 2 at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany, with special guests, former members/guitarists Uli Jon Roth and Michael Schenker.

Scorpions set lists have been really, really good for the last couple of years, and I think (hope, at least) this tour will continue in that tradition. Even if it doesn't, they're still an excellent live band.

Oh man, my wife came in the kitchen while I was rocking "World Wide Live" and I had to explain why Klaus's stage raps on that album are so awesome....now I just randomly bust out the same dialogue to her, I'll just walk in a room and say "YOO WANT SOME MORE ROCK AND ROLL?!?!?"

LOL i love how US posters just bitch about what states the bands should come too!

This article really doesn't say much about the tour in any way ie. whether it be a classics tour or Love At First Sting/Blackout tour as I would guess...or what!

Anyway I've seen these guys twice live and they blew my mind both times 2005 and 2008 they definitely bring a crowd together and kick their asses completely

I hope Scotland comes around again sooner or later

Scorps!

I've seem them 6 times, 84, 88, and 4 times since 96. I have still yet to find a band that can compete with them live....maybe Maiden and one or two others.

Yes, none are 'radio-play' songs (hear that Riot Act), but Classic SCORPS! A tour to focus on these 2 albums would be great, though the audience size here in LA area is now very small. But who cares as long as we do & they play the songs above! Those 2 & Savage Amusement form the SCORPS Trilogy...so it should be instead "2010 SCORPS Trilogy." Heck, have Yngwie open for them, he's another bad Guitar slinger.

fucking rock man. They always wipe the floor with anyone they tour with. Sting and Blackout tour huh? Maybe they're playing stuff from Love at First Sting and Blackout primarily? That would be awesome.

I wonder what that "sensational statement" will be... A reunion with Francis Buchholz and Herman "ze German" Rarebell perhaps? Playing "Blackout" and "Love at First Sting" in their entirety? Or maybe both?

Next year, EMI will release a "twentieth anniversary edition" of "World Wide Live". I hope it will include the long-deleted video of the same name on DVD.

Though I am, of course, judging by my username, a SUPER MAIDEN FAN and I believe that "LIVE AFTER DEATH" is the best metal live LP. of all time, I must say that it's not my fav.
You guessed it, WWL Scorps is my fav. and I too occasionally scream out stuff like, 'we're going to do another song, from new album, 'Love at 1st Sting'...

I have been a Scorpions fan since the beginning ( I have always preferred the Uli or M.Schenker years) and although I love them I have to be brutally honest and say that the spark has gone out . I've seen them several times over the years. Many live performances I have seen on Utube bare out the fact that they seem to just be going through the motions now. Klaus' voice has lost any passion it once had and he sounds REALLY tired-like he just wants to get through the set and go home. Rudolf whom I have always adored, has become very cheesy in his guitar playing antics and it just looks silly from a 60 year old guy, and I can't stand Kottak. Pawel simply fades into the shadows. I have never even considered Kottak/Pawel to even be real Scorpions-Francis and Herman could never *really* be replaced. Lets not have another concert tour to simply make some money and end up giving lounge lizard performances guys.
