PAUL DI'ANNO: New Video Interview Posted Online - Nov. 21, 2009
Brazil's Rádio Putzgrila recently conducted an interview with former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno. Watch the chat below.

In other news, Di'Anno has released the following statement via his MySpace page:

"On behalf of myself and the tour promoter and the two touring bands and tour manager, this is a statement concerning the cancellation of some shows at the end of the Eastern European tour.

"Due to extreme flu sickness of my band, myself, the tour promoter and tour manager (and our support band who were travelling on the tour bus with us), it was just impossible for the tour to be completed.

"We would like to appologise to all of our fans and the various promoters involved and we shall find a way (when we are all well again) to reschedule those dates that were cancelled.

"Very sorry for this unfortunate situation, but it was something that we had no way of controlling."

According to the web site of the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City, Di'Anno will perform at the venue on January 27, 2010 as part of his first U.S. tour in over 15 years. Support at the show will come from ICARUS WITCH.

When asked by Vue Weekly in a recent interview about the possibility of releasing a new studio album in the not-too-distant future, Di'Anno replied, "We did five new tracks in Germany last year — it's very industrialized — but we got in a bit of an argument with the record company and we told them to piss off, basically. So I kept them songs and a friend of mine where I am right at the minute in Salisbury down in Southwest England, has just handed me 16 pieces of music so I'm going to go away when I have a bit of time and see what I can come up with for that."

but Dianno, unlike Mustaine, has a right to be bitter.

^^^^

What are you talking about?

Dave Mustaine - a driving force in Metallica but was booted out without warning due to doing the EXACT same thing as the rest of the band..drinking and drugging

Paul DiAnno - Abused alcohol and cocaine to the point that he was missing shows. His inability to get along with other band members wasnt exactly keeping him the band either.

What in the fuck does Dave Mustaine have to do with this anyway?

Megadeth have sold 20 million records, and have influenced a whole bunch of people. The combined sales of Dianno's post-Maiden work(killers, solo etc), doesn't even add up to 'Risk'. When most people think of Maiden, they think of Dickinson, and that's a fact.

Paul definitely got the worse deal.

The difference is Paul wanted out of Maiden. Mustaine was fired from Metallica.
I don't even know why anyone still brings up Mustaine in Metallica. It was SO long ago! And it's almost like Al Atkins being in Judas Priest. Mustaine obviously had more impact on Metallica but he didn't even appear on an official Metallica release - only No Life Til Leather (on crappy old cassette)

Mustaine and the media need to get over his very brief period he spent with Metallica.

Sorry man. It appeared as though you were saying that DiAnno has more right to be bitter about being tossed from Maiden than Mustaine did for being tossed from Metallica>

I see what you're saying now but I think that DiAnno has no reasons to be bitter. The Iron Maiden and Killers albums are to this day still big sellers. His cut from those albums plus any merchandising percentages he may get from the Killers Eddie image would be pretty decent.

the moral to the story is that singers who are addicts and get themselves kicked out of bands/or destroy bands find ways to not complete tours.

How is Steven Tyler doin'? Axl, anyone?

Y'know the whole funny thing about the whole paul, maiden thing is that for anyone who has seen the video release for 12 Wasted Years Dianno actually says that him leaving was a mutual decision and he himself said that he couldn't get his act together.
He wasn't shafted,he left on his own accord. Just sayin'.

But Paul is bitter & washed-up. I met him in Toronto, not a good vibe around that guy. I wish Bruce could/would bring what he did with Roy Z on
The Chemical Wedding to Maiden!!
