I wonder if this is the same PaganFest tour that will come to the US afterwards. I would love to see Finntroll and Eluveitie again, and I'd be pretty fucking happy if Arkona came here too.

Congrats to Arkona for getting on a premier European tour. They really deserve it. One of the best and underrated bands in the world. Im hoping they come to the U.S. some day but I have my doubts itll be anytime soon. I considered going to Ragnarok this year mainly just to see them and when they had to cancel I dropped the idea. Not that the fest isnt any good (in fact its a pretty good fest and had a solid lineup this year) but it wasnt worth the $1000 plus id had to spend unless it included one of my favorite bands. Maybe I'll get to see them next year...I certainly hope so. So for any folk/pagan metal fans who havent heard Arkona or heard much of them, and are attending one of these Paganfest shows, youll definitely be blown away. As theyre pretty good live as well judging by the DVD footage.

Suomi,

Id love to see this lineup come to America too, especially with Arkona. But i dont think getting work visas to the U.S. is easy for Russians...even for a band signed to a well-known label within the heavy metal genre. Our govt is too paranoid over Russians overstaying their visas.

Some Russians on work/temporary resident visas overstay, sure...but the overwhelming do not. In fact probably almost no one overstays who has a musical tour-related work visa.

Were rumors that Russian metal band suppose to play the Heathen Crusade Fest in MN had to cancel because of not being able to get the visas. Not sure if its because of what I mentioned, though.
