ALICE IN CHAINS Bassist Interviewed On Fredericton's FOX 105 FM - Nov. 23, 2009
ALICE IN CHAINS bassist Mike Inez was recently interviewed on the Fox 105 FM radio station out of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The chat is now available for streaming below.

"Your Decision", the new video from ALICE IN CHAINS, will make its debut on December 1 via iTunes. The clip was directed by Stephen Schuster, who previously worked with ALICE IN CHAINS on the "A Looking In View" video, and it features an appearance by "Project Runway" season three model Amanda Fields.

"Your Decision" is the second single to be lifted from band's first all-new album in 14 years, titled "Black Gives Way To Blue", which sold 126,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart (behind latest albums from PARAMORE, MARIAH CAREY, BARBRA STREISAND and BREAKING BENJAMIN).

ALICE IN CHAINS recruited pop legend Elton John to contribute piano to the CD's title track, which is written in tribute to Staley.

Singer William DuVall had played with his own group, COMES WITH THE FALL, as well as in Jerry Cantrell's solo band, before joining up with ALICE IN CHAINS in 2006.

"Black Gives Way to Blue" was recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, RUSH) at the Northridge, California studio of FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl.

Atlantic Canada sure has been making up for a lot of lost time in landing big-name tours lately. Did Rita MacNeil eat all the members of Sloan and succumb to food poisoning recently?

I'm doing research into rock and rap in order to write a new music education text. In the course of my research, I've had to learn about rock (I'm a classically trained musician, opera singer) from the Beatles forward to the present day. I've listened to hundreds of hours of music from classic blues-based hard rock, heavy metal, metal alternative, techno/disco, and progressive rock as well as rap. Alice in Chains's album, Black Gives Way to Blue, is at the TOP of my LIST of music I have grown to love passionately. They're coming to Chicago in March. I -- and many of my undergrad music majors -- will BE THERE!!!!!

Jerry Cantrell was in boys choir when he was young. If you ever have a chance to meet him you'd have a great conversation with him I'm sure. Besides, it's cool to see once in a while someone talk about music from academic viewpoint.

Wow, I can't believe what Inez said about Layne's dad, considering that Layne's dad took a big part in leading Layne to his depression and drug use to death. From what I heard from Layne through interviews, he really let Layne down.

And I totally remember Left Eye Lopez deal. She actually died a little after Layne, but I remember coming home from school that day, walked in to my house, and my mom going, "That girl from TLC died!!! This is way bigger than Ryan Staley or whatever!"

Don't wanna disrespect my mom but I'll never forgive her on that one.
