PRONG Mainman To Guest On New SOULFLY Album - Nov. 25, 2009
PRONG mainman Tommy Victor spent last Friday (November 20) with Max Cavalera and SOULFLY in the studio collaborating on the song "Lethal Injection" for SOULFLY's upcoming album, "Omen". Max and Tommy split vocal duties on the track.

Commented Victor, "We had a great time on tour with SOULFY last fall.

"It was an honor and a pleasure working with SOULFLY in the studio. I think the song turned out great and is definitely a killer track."

SOULFLY entered Edge Of The Earth studios in Hollywood, California on November 6 with producer Logan Mader (MACHINE HEAD, DIVINE HERESY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, GOJIRA, DEVILDRIVER) to begin recording "Omen", for an early 2010 release via Roadrunner Records.

In a recent interview, Max Cavalera stated about the songwriting process for the band's next album, "We're thinking about making the songs a little shorter, so if you can imagine maybe a little bit like MINOR THREAT mixed with [SLAYER's] 'Reign In Blood' mixed with SOULFLY, with still some world music, but much smaller, and the songs not so long — shorter. It'll be more aggressive than 'Conquer' [album] even, because it'll be shorter — it'll be like when SLAYER did 'Reign In Blood', [that] kind of thing."

Working songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to last year's "Conquer" include:

* Bloodbath And Beyond
* Soulfly VII
* Off With Their Heads
* Omen
* Rise Of The Fallen
* Great Depression
* Apocalyptic Clash
* Vulture Culture
* Lethal Injection
* 7 Daggerz

Bonus / B-side tracks:

* Four Sticks (LED ZEPPELIN cover)
* Refuse/Resist (SEPULTURA cover; feat. Max's son Zyon on drums)
* Your Life, My Life (EXCEL cover; feat. Max's son Igor on drums)

Strange that he would put Soulfly VII as the second track if hes looking to keep the album tight. Better to put it at the end like the old albums as a way to diffuse the tension after 40 minutes of ass beating.

On a side note, his last three albums were fucking killer. First three not so much. I feel like with each album hes getting closer and closer to his thrash roots again. Its great to see that he's taking Soulfly to a place that "Sepultura" wishes they could go.

the songs are probably not in track order @deadfeti.

Another great guest performer in Prong. Thrash it up!

They'll probably announce Phil Anselmo is on the album next week...
