SHINING: New Album Details Revealed - Nov. 25, 2009
Swedish black metallers SHINING have completed work on their seventh album, "Shining VII - Född Förlorare" (English translation: "Born Loser"), for a March/April release via Indie Recordings.

The album will feature the following track listing:

01. Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel
02. Tiden Läker Inga Sår
03. Människa O'Avskyvärda Människa
04. Tillsammans Är Vi Allt
05. I Nattens Timma
06. FFF

According to frontman Niklas Kvarforth, "Shining VII - Född Förlorare" will see SHINING "tak[ing] a deep dive into the darkest of all musical genres you could imagine."

Making guest appearances on the album are Erik Danielsson (WATAIN), Peter Bjargo (ARCANA) and NORDMAN.

SHINING will tour Europe in December with SATYRICON. They will also appear at the Metalfest Open Air festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in May 2010.

The band is currently waiting for the work permit and visa approvals that will enable them to join the U.S. tour with BEHEMOTH in January, and will announce dates as soon as approvals have been confirmed.

Below you can see a video of SHINING performing the song "Plagoande O'Helga Plagoande" from the album "Klagopsalmer VI" at the Infernal Damnation Fest on May 9, 2009 at the Underworld, Camden, London.

is a fucking waste of skin racist too. were you born yesterday? take the bastard out behind his cabin and put two in his head. he's a fucking murderer. must be a tough punishment recording an album while you are in jail. not saying north america's system is better, but give me a break.

fuck varg and fuck niklas. Mr.Kvarforth is a fucking joke. cutting yourself on stage? making out with other guys on stage? (maniac). he says he enjoys hearing about his fans cutting/mutilating themselves and committing suicide.

if he is so goddamn anti-life and in love with suicide, grab the fucking shotgun niklas and show all your mindless sheep fans how cool it is.

WHy are people comparing Shining to Burzum?

Burzum is about finding the light in the dark and Shining about dwelling further more into darkness.

At least the title of the new Shining album reveals the true personalities of the musicians involved.

Thank god I'm almost 40 and pay no attention to metal lyrics or bullshit stage presence. As far as I know they're not part of NSBM, and wouldn't even call them black metal to begin with. As for music (this is after all why we're all here) Shining is in a class of their own. Superb music only a handful of Blabberposeurs understand anyway. Obviously this is true of most of you replying to this post.

This band fucking rules. Their last three albums are masterpieces specially IV and V.

I saw Shining in an concert and its was an infamous concert in the best sense of the word. The sound was great and the performace of the songs absolutely perfect and at the same we saw how Niklas insulted every body, broke bottles of wine, cut his arms and vomited.

Its a little bit surrealistic when you see all this when the band is doing a perfect representation of their music. Crazy attitude and perfect playing mixed in the same concert. Something unique hehehe.

Great for Varg being the king of norway. Doesn't matter since Shining are from Sweden.

And by the way its getting kinda ridicolous how everything connected to black metal is NSBM these days...

Isn't it kind of confusing that there are two bands called "Shining" - and that those two bands play completely different music, yet are both on the same record label? One of the Shinings should seriously change names!

Shining love them or hate them are mega talented musicians; the precision and dynamic range of IV and V out shadow 98% of everything else out there. So you hate their message, don't listen to them. I could care less how they personally act or what their beliefs are, the music stands alone above that.

Everyone that hates them so badly, does so due to their beliefs, not because they ever even listened to more second of their music. Now Burzum or Varg I can't stand his music, I could care less about his beliefs, so I have no use for him.
