TRIVIUM: New Video Interview With COREY BEAULIEU Available - Nov. 25, 2009
HardTimes.ca conducted an interview with guitarist Corey Beaulieu of Florida metallers TRIVIUM when the band played in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on November 9, 2009. Watch the chat below.

TRIVIUM has contributed a new song, entitled "Shattering The Skies Above", to the "God Of War Heavy Metal EP" (Extended Play) which will be included with "God of War III Ultimate Edition", an exclusive collector's pack celebrating the final installment of the award-winning franchise. The EP is described as "a heavy metal homage featuring original music inspired by 'God Of War'." Also scheduled to appear on the EP is DREAM THEATER, among other artists.

TRIVIUM guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy tells U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine, "['Shattering The Skies Above'] will come out exclusively on 'God Of War III', it will not be on the next TRIVIUM record, but it is going to give people a really good representation of where we're going with the next record." He adds, "I'm pretty sure we'll be playing it in the U.K. when we're over [in March 2010], so people will be able to hear where we're going. That'll be the only new thing."

Developed by Sony, "God Of War III" is set in the realm of Greek mythology and is a single-player game that allows players to take on the climatic role of the ex-Spartan warrior, Kratos, as he treads through the intimidating heights of Mt. Olympus and the dark depths of hell to seek revenge on those who betrayed him. Armed with double-chained blades, Kratos must take on mythology's darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles throughout his merciless quest to destroy Olympus.

TRIVIUM's participation in the game was revealed on October 20 during Heafy's interview with Kidd Christoff of Baltimore's 98Rock radio station.

TRIVIUM drummer Travis Smith is sitting out the second leg of the band's North American "Into The Mouth Of Hell" tour in order to take care of "some personal business" at home. Filling in on drums for the tour is South Florida's Nick Augusto, a former TRIVIUM drum tech and a member of the band MARUTA (Willowtip Records).

KARMABLADE and bigborman are retarded. This band is about 100% metal. The music doesn't have much influences from other genres, at all.

And metal is supposed to be evil? Where did you get that shit from? In my opinion, metal is doing better than ever. Great bands and great releases in the past few years.

It really chaps my ass when people try to deny bands the title of "metal" simply because they don't like them.

Is Trivium a metal band? Sure they are. Are they a good metal band? Fuck no they're not.

I can't believe that this band thinks that they're still even marginally relevant and that people care about what they have to say.

i myself, like the oldschool stuff, but you gotta like the guitar work that matt & corey create. all the double kicks and awsome fills that travis can do, and some pretty cool bass lines from paolo, just listen to the album the crusade, if you like the old school stuff, it has some old school feel! and if you dont think it has no place in the world of metal.....you might be a redneck!
