DETHKLOK Guitarist Interviewed In San Jose - Nov. 26, 2009
ACtv conducted an interview with guitarist Mike Keneally from the touring version of DETHKLOK — the stars of the animated Cartoon Network "Adult Swim" program "Metalocalypse" — on November 21, 2009 at Event Center in San Jose, California. Watch the chat below.

Alfred Music Publishing, a leading provider of high-quality music products since 1922, has partnered with Cartoon Network Enterprises, the licensing and merchandising arm of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, to present the album-matching authentic guitar TAB songbook of the sophomore album from the stars of "Metalocalypse", "Dethklok: The Dethalbum II", to fans everywhere.

Created by Brendon Small ("Home Movies") and Tommy Blacha ("Da Ali G Show"), the "Metalocalypse" television series launched on Adult Swim in 2006 and the series' third season recently debuted on Adult Swim. One of the most popular series on the cable network, "Metalocalypse" portrays DETHKLOK as a band with unheard-of popularity, even ranking them as the seventh-largest economy on earth. The band released its first album, "The Dethalbum", in 2007, which debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and went on to sell more than 300,000 units to date. The album-matching songbook went on to be among the bestselling album-matching songbooks of the year. Topping the first week success of "The Dethalbum", the heavy metal juggernauts have again exploded onto The Billboard 200 with the release of "Dethklok: The Dethalbum II", which debuted at No. 15 and sold nearly 45,000 copies in its first week.

Alfred's album-matching folio features all 12 tracks in authentic guitar TAB transcriptions — all approved by the show's guitarist, composer, and creator, Small.

"Dethklok: The Dethalbum II" guitar TAB songbook is currently available at local music retail stores, as well as online at alfred.com, with a list price of $22.95.

"The Dethalbum II" guitar TAB songbook includes these titles:

* Black Fire Upon Us
* Bloodlines
* Burn the Earth
* Comet Song
* The Cyborg Slayers
* Dethsupport
* The Gears
* I Tamper with the Evidence at the Murder Site of Odin
* Laser Cannon Deth Sentence
* Murmaider II: The Water God
* Symmetry
* Volcano

"Metalocalypse" creator Brendon Small had this to say about the chart debut of "Dethklok: The Dethalbum II": "I'm both happy and humiliated that 'Dethalbum II' reached number 15. Happy because we beat the first DETHALBUM numbers and humiliated to have been beaten by our second album numbers by ourselves. Either way we're still not as good as THE ARCHIES, and I never want to forget that. Having said all of that, dear god I am fantastic and talented."

Just got his latest album, Scambot, through the mail, and I'm loving every second of it. Mike's a true original, and an extremely nice guy to boot. Get his records on keneally.com. Now.

I would have loved to see the Dethklok/Mastodon/High on Fire tour, but sadly I'm on the other side of the Atlantic...

Besides, how could he shred like Skwisgaar?

1. Skwisgaar isn't a real person bro, he's a cartoon

2. Brandon Small plays all guitars in Dethklok on the show, and he plays pretty much all the solos live. How could he hire an entirely new band and dress them up like Dethklok and get them to play the same way that he does?
