SLASH's Solo Tour To Coincide With Album Release - Nov. 29, 2009
Legendary VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash has posted the following message on his official Twitter profile:

"Driving around listening to the analog mixes of my solo record, I gotta say it sounds awesome. The whole self-titled record was recorded analog.

"It will be released March/April. Tour starts around then too. It will be released in all formats, including vinyl."

According to The Pulse of Radio, Slash recently took to Twitter to defend BLACK EYED PEAS singer Fergie's (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) vocal performance on a new recording she did with Slash of the GUNS N' ROSES classic "Paradise City", also featuring CYPRESS HILL. A copy of the recording surfaced online earlier in the month (hear audio below), while Slash is contemplating whether to include it on his new solo album. The former GUNS guitarist tweeted, "Until now, not too many people have heard Fergie sing rock & roll but she sings it better (than) most dudes I know. She's a screamer at heart."

Among the other guests appearing on the album are Dave Grohl, Flea, Chris Cornell, Duff McKagan, WOLFMOTHER's Andrew Stockdale, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Nicole Scherzinger, Meat Loaf, MAROON 5's Adam Levine and Ozzy Osbourne, who contributes vocals to the first single.

"Slash" will see Roadrunner Records (the guitarist's European record label) enter into a unique and innovative association with a U.K. media partner — the special-interest media group Future. In a brand new concept in record distribution the standard album release will be preceded by a "fan pack," in which the Roadrunner Records album will be bundled together with a highly collectable special issue of Future Publishing's Classic Rock magazine dedicated to Slash's career. This will be the first format of the album available anywhere in the world.

"Paradise City" (featuring CYPRESS HILL and Fergie [a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson] of the BLACK EYED PEAS):

I'll be curious to hear who is in the touring band. I hope he gets a singer as good as the guys on his first two solo records. Those records rocked. If he plays a good mix of songs from them and the new record, with a few GnR deep cuts thrown in, it will be a great show.

i thought the 2 singers on the slash solo albums were horrible. they actually made the album unlistenable.

but each to their own :)

I'm down with the CD that will be coming with a future issue of Classic Rock. They did the same thing last year with Tesla's Reel to Reel 2.

Man, that version of Paradise City is awkward to listen to.

Is there any chance you'll reunite with Guns n Roses?

Slash, you really had to do this to us.
Make us think "WTF is he gonna do about a singer?"

I hope you go the small club/cool singer way.
HELL tour with ANVIL!!!!!
NOT, the Arena/ Fergie way. I cannot blame you if you do this, you deserve more money. But, you seem to have never sold out before. SO I have faith you won't let me (and everyone in the world!) down. :P

Love ya man.
At least you aren't making an album for 17-or so years!!!!

I haven't been this excited about a solo album since, um, er, uh... ok, Slash sucks... what else is new.

What a logistical nightmare. Why even have a "tour". Just meet up with some of the singers at different shows and festivals when time and scheduling permits. Who really wants to hear Slash and a bunch of no names cover his solo album.

Please man, seriously, what is this crap with Fergie and Cypress Hill? They absolutely destroy the song. I hope Slash gets more into his bluesy roots in the rest of the album, for God's sake

I'm all for Slash doing his own thing...

...but WTF will the main act be composed of? Hate to sound cheap but I won't pay concert prices to hear his (assumed, typical 40 minute or so) solo album being performed. A band main-staging with 1 album always means a weak show.

Did anyone hear what he will use to fill out the main show? Normally the main act plays at least 70 minutes.

I read an interview where Slash said on this tour he'll play stuff from his new album, plus songs from VR, GN'R, Snakepit and other covers in his set as well. I think that will make for an awesome show!

I just hope the tour makes it's way to Australia as well!
