ROB HALFORD: 'I Can't Wait For DIO To Get Well And Be Back Out There Singing His Heart Out' - Nov. 30, 2009
Canadian syndicated radio show "Metal7080" (web site) conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford earlier today (Monday, November 30). During the 21-minute chat, Rob talked about the "Winter Songs" holiday album from HALFORD and his Metal God Apparel clothing line, among other topics.

When asked if he has been in contact with Ronnie James Dio since it was announced that the legendary HEAVEN & HELL/BLACK SABBATH/RAINBOW singer was diagnosed with stomach cancer, Rob replied, "I've been in touch with Wendy [Ronnie's wife/manager]. In fact, I got an-email back from Wendy today. As I understand it, Wendy and Ronnie are traveling tomorrow to start treatment."

He added, "What can you say?! Life is precious. Ronnie has dedicated his entire life to metal. He is a world-famous metal singer and he is a dear friend of mine and I love him a lot and I'm very hopeful, because he is being treated by some of the top people. And I'm sure that he will get fit and he will get well and be back out to the metal stages of the world as soon as he possibly can. So he is in my thoughts and my prayers — not only for myself but i think for millions of his fans all around the world. He is a wonderful man. I can't wait for him to get well and be back out there singing his heart out."

The CD landed at position No. 26 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

HALFORD's first holiday CD, "Halford III - Winter Songs" was released via Rob's new label Metal God Records, distributed globally by ADA Global/Warner Music Group, Fontana/Universal Music Group, Conveyor/Universal Music Canada and Sony Music Japan.

It's good to see one metal god supporting another.

As an ignorant teenager, I bought Dio's The Very Beast Of Dio because I thought he was ridiculous and I'd get a laugh out of it. Then I got hooked. His message is about overcoming life's troubles. We all can only hope that he uses that same message to overcome this terrible illness. Ronnie, we are all here with you and will do whatever we can to help you fight!

Halford as usual is THE COOLEST. The guy is totally humble with never a bad word to say about anybody, a total class act. Halford is always so positive, has a great attitude, and is so loyal and respectful to his band, fans, friends, and the metal community. My buddy met Halford at a meet and greet and said he was totally cool. KK is also way cool to fans. Dio is a legend, but he needs to not trust traditional doctors so much and keep an open mind to other modes of naturopathic healing. These fucking doctors will poison you with drugs in no time, Dio needs to be on his guard.

hmmmm...hate to throw the wet blanket.

These stories normally end one way. The person tells you they are in either finished with the first stage or are in the second stage of treatment and they feel strong....and shortly thereafter they die. Seen this several times.

67 years old, barely 5 foot tall, and going thru that type of treatment? what a shame. he has very little chance at all.

Time to throw a tribute concert, so he can see what he meant to people while he is still here to appreciate it.

Man, you've been listening to too much depressing Death Metal. There are many cancer survivors. My father in law survived throat cancer, my sister survived brain cancer, my friends mother survived breast cancer. It all depends on the type and when you catch it and they seem to have caught it early. And besides there have been many studies done and statistically speaking shorter people tend to live longer. Go figure. Maybe it's Elf power.

And don't forget that EVH had tongue cancer and he conquered it.

Here’s to a short treatment and speedy recovery!

I'm worried about him too; cancer is a serious illness. But cancer is treatable today, especially when caught in the early stages. The man is in great shape physically. He's metal tough, strong and has the love and support of millions. I just saw him perform late August and couldn't believe his stamina and energy, which was greater than most performers in their 20s.

I know Ronnie will beat this.

The treatments are tough and he's got a lot in front of him, but I know he can do it. He's got the heart and spirit to overcome anything. And he has to know how many of us love him and are pulling for him. If that doesn't make cancer hide its ugly head in shame, I don't know what will.

Bless you, Ronnie. You have been hope and inspiration for so many of us. We are here for you now.

Please, if anyone knows where we can send cards, please post. Can we send to Blabbermouth?

Rob Halford should donate part of his obviously healthy stomach to Dio. Because that organ has, no doubt, survived some pretty toxic "donations" of its' own over the years.

Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio are two of the very best metal vocalists in the history of music, period....end of that discussion.

Isn't it odd that Dio has come to America, to receive his treatment for cancer?.....let me just throw this little tidbid of info in here, because it is very very important....why do you think people like DIO who can afford it come here for treatment.....because we have the very best healthcare in the world....and your government wants to change that......pay attention metalheads.....get smart......if you want to beat cancer, you come to america....but that offer is about to change....it's good for a limited time only......if your government takes over, it will be like the rest of europe.......if you must get sick, get sick now....because in the future, it will kill you......best wishes to DIO...I've seen him live over 8 times...., he was my very first concert.....the holy diver tour.......and he always gives 110%....

Long Live DIO!!!!!!

This is not the time to get political. The reason he's being treated in America is because he's American you dumbass. Put down you're vodka kool aid smoothie and turn off Glenn Beck and just wish the man a speedy recovery.

If ronnie has one percent of fight in him compared to his passion for metal and perfection then I have no doubt he will kick cancer in the ass, and be back doing what he does best. Get well soon Ronnie.
