SCAR SYMMETRY: 'Ascension Chamber' Video Released - Dec. 1, 2009
"Ascension Chamber", the new video from Swedish progressive melodic death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY, can be viewed below.

Commented guitarist Per Nilsson: "A spiritual entity that originates from the sun travels through the solar system, destination: the earth. That's the basic concept of the song 'Ascension Chamber'. So when we decided to do a video for it, we knew we had to set it in space!

"We shot the video on the 25th of October with director Ronny Hemlin, only two days before we went on the Neckbreakers Ball tour. We performed 'Ascension Chamber' every night on tour and it's one of those songs that just works really well live. It's a keeper on the setlist for sure."

"Ascension Chamber" comes off SCAR SYMMETRY's latest album, "Dark Matter Dimensions", which was released on October 2 via Nuclear Blast Records.

SCAR SYMMETRY parted ways with singer Christian Älvestam last year due to "business and creative differences and lack of interpersonal chemistry." The band explained at the time, "We came to a point where the band's existence was in jeopardy because of these differences, and the only way for us to continue with an inspired state of mind was to go through with this change in the lineup."

Christian has since been replaced by Roberth Karlsson (lead growl vocals and backing clean vocals) and Lars Palmqvist (lead clean vocals and backing growl vocals).

At first I wasn't sure what to think about the dual vocalist issue, but the more I hear of this disc the more I'm liking it. The ability to have both singers overlapping adds some depth to the music.

These guys still have it, they've never let me down. And while I'm sad that Christian left, the band has still carried on and found suitable replacements for him.

As far as the video, I see it on the same level as album artwork. if it's cool, it's cool, if it sucks who really cares. I place most of my stock in the music, not videos.

Gah, another "stand in front of a green screen and rock out" metal video. That wind effect looks so stupid

I guess their label MUST give them more money for shooting videos.

another stupid video just like their last one.... the new cd kinda blows which is no good cause i've loved this band since their debut. christian leaving was the worst thing that could have happened to this band, well they'd be fucked if per left too.

Love the album, as good as everything else they have done by far. I cant understand that someone that likes the band from before dont like this release. Go listen to it again, its as kick ass as the two newest music videos ;)
