WEEDEATER To Enter Studio This Month - Jan. 6, 2010
North Carolina's sludge pillagers WEEDEATER will enter Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, Illinois later this month with producer Steve Albini (NIRVANA, NEUROSIS, PIXIES) to begin recording their fourth album for a late 2010 release. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Claw Of The Sloth" and "The Darkening".

WEEDEATER will play a few shows on the way to the studio and back to showcase/road-test the new stuff. A list of dates can be found on the group's MySpace page.

WEEDEATER's third album, "God Luck And Good Speed", was released in 2007 on Southern Lord Recordings; a deluxe double LP version came out in 2009. With the exception of one song ("Alone"), the entire LP was recorded at Albini's Electrical Audio. Remaining true to WEEDEATER tradition, the album art was provided by Arik Roper.

Saw them open up for The Melvins and Down back in September in Orlando. Definitely set the tone for the rest of the show. Hope to catch them again soon.

These dudes rocked the Down show in Hollywood. Absolutely loved them. Spent last Saturday listening to ALL their records. Awesome bass lines.

Side note: I wonder if this will be the "Jason the Dragon" concept album they had been talking about.
