Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist GILBY CLARKE Undergoes Surgery After Hit-And-Run Accident - Jan. 13, 2010
Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke underwent surgery earlier today to repair one of his legs after he was seriously injured in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 10). Gilby's wife, Daniella Clarke, writes on her Twitter page, "My guy is out of surgery. One down one more to go."

"While Gilby can't walk, since both legs [are] broken, the idiot that hit him and left is walking around somewhere with no guilt for what he did."

Photos of Clarke in the hospital and of the damage to his motorcycle can be viewed below (courtesy of Street Chopper).

Former MTV "Headbangers Ball" host Riki Rachtman posted a message on Twitter yesterday asking people to contact him if they know anything about the accident.

According to Riki, the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. PT when Clarke was making his way through Sherman Oaks, California. "He was riding south on Woodman and at the intersection of Moorpark, some idiot turned left right in front of him," Rachtman explains. "Gilby hit the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver took off."

He adds, "Here is what we know so far. [The vehicle was a pickup] truck, light color tan perhaps silver. There was a male driver and possibly a female passenger [who] could be Hispanic, but not sure. The truck looked fairly new and has damage on the passenger side."

......that they don't know the make of the truck; that'd narrow it down some. Surely someone saw something. Thank God it was just his legs; it could've been so much worse.

Good luck Gilby.

Someone has a vehicle with unexplained damage somewhere. Odds are they were under the influence, the number one reason for running away. Keep publicizing this so when this car goes to a body shop for repairs, it is recognized.

I wrecked, well actually "I" didn't wreck shit, some stupid bitch wrecked, my bike the same way. There was a line of cars in the left lane of my direction waiting to turn left and I came up in the right lane, slowing down expecting someone to pull out of the left lane, and as I got to the crosswalk, I made eye contact with said stupid bitch making a left turn in the opposite direction. Like I said, I made eye contact, I don't know what she was looking at when she decided to gun it right in front of me. My bike hit the passenger side and fortunately, I flipped straight over onto her hood as my bike's rear end swung around to the left against the car and bent the frame over 4 inches. I was lucky to come out of it sore and a little bruised up but nothing broken or worse. Would have preferred the dumb bitch would have had insurance though!
Anyway, hope to hear Gilby gets better, not a big fan or anything, but getting hit on a bike sucks nut butter.
Oh, and the comment about Axl's card in 2026 was fucking hysterical. He will probably get a pen, have creative differences with it, get a new pen that is ten times better than any other pen he has ever had only in a kinda weird color, and write half of the card but be angry the pen was watching porno while writing his artistic masterpiece so he gets another pen with a stupid nickname to finally finish it only to have Gilby read half of it and throw it away.
