DISTURBED Begins Recording Next Album - Feb. 8, 2010
According to The Pulse of Radio, DISTURBED has hit the studio in its hometown of Chicago to begin recording its fifth album, with a tentative summer release date planned. The group has not yet announced a title for the project, which will follow up 2008's "Indestructible". Guitarist Dan Donegan told The Pulse of Radio that DISTURBED had 15 to 18 songs ready to go, adding that the band doesn't like to waste time once it gets started. "I mean, we definitely go in there very prepared," he said. "We never enter the studio unless we feel like, right now, if these are the songs we record, that we would have an album that we're proud of and we're excited about. And we put everything under the microscope and examine it the best we can to make sure that we're prepared. We don't like going in there wasting time. We go in there to work, and to try to make the best album we can."

Meanwhile, the band has set March 23 as the release date for the 10th anniversary edition of its debut album, "The Sickness". The set, which will also be available on vinyl, will feature B-sides, new artwork, and exclusive online content.

Around the same time, the group will re-launch its website with a special section, accessible only by a code included with new copies of "The Sickness", that will feature clips of the quartet in the studio recording their new album.

I'm going to wait for the interviews saying this will be their "heaviest" and "most creative"and will end up sounding like every other.

You're right, Judge. 4 multiplatinum albums means they have no fans.

Disturbed haters are a sad bunch. A band is blessed with multi-platinum sales-- that means they must be posers!

Grow the fuck up.

I kinda liked The Sickness way back in the day. That vinyl edition sounds kind of tempting for a nostalgia trip. But i don't see myself falling back into the nu-metal fold.

This band gets better and better with every album. It amazes me how much they have matured musically.

whats truly sad about bands like disturbed, is that it simply shows you how our beloved music industry spits on the faces of the middle and lower class by making these mutts so rich, and for what? 3 power chords and what would sound like if chris griffins evil closet monkey could shout stupid lyrics? fuck that. any of these frauds in this band couldnt argue with a decently bright high school student on any topic that involves something intelligent or meaningful. disturbed is worthless. actually, just worth less. but yet so many dolts in the USA (hell, even the world) bought into this disgraceful BS. it just gives me one more reason to destroy the world

I am not a fan of the first album because it sounds like a nu-metal album. Though, every release following, are unapologetic METAL albums. DISTURBED are a METAL band. I saw them live with 5 Finger Death Punch and they just slammed. I am looking forward to the new album. \m/

You can say what you will about the band, however, there is no denying their success, and this is from a band that very rarely releases a safe radio friendly ballad which most bands these days with any amount of success will milk for months and months and months, until the proverbial dead horse has been beaten.

In fact, I believe that over the last 2 records, the only so called ballad Disturbed had released was "Overburdened"...which in it's own right was one hell of a kick ass song. I love Disturbed, and I believe they are a very underrated band in terms of their musicianship, the proof in that is from Danny Donegan, he's one hell of an axe man who IMHO doesn't get the respect he deserves as one of the great guitarists of today! Sure he may not be no Hendrix, but his style of playing, and his solo's are tasty, and well thought out. :)

lol I cant believe some of the comments over this band. Who cares if you dont like them, they aren't my favourite band but at least a hard rock band can still make multi-platinum selling efforts in today's music crowded with the same old hip/hop/pop music. I'm not complaining about these guys and anyone who thinks that someone is an idiot for liking this band is clearly narrowminded. People like what they like, regardless if it ranks from Disturbed to Cannibal Corpse to whatever else. Point is, just chill out. At least there is some music in metal that is successful regardless if you like them or not.

Can only view this as that. At least they play the same melodic but effective style.

Other old bands (Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax) are just fucking it up for nostalgia with theirlineup changes, temporary reunions, medical bills, and vendettas. Hard rock/metal fandom is sickening sometimes.
