LAMB OF GOD Frontman Reveals Favorite Horror Movies Of All Time - Feb. 8, 2010
Vocalist Randy Blythe of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD recently spoke to Rick Florino of Bloody-Disgusting.com about his favorite horror movies.

Blythe's Top 5 favorite horror films:

01. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
02. Children of the Corn
03. The Blair Witch Project
04. The Devil's Rejects
05. Ringu

To read Blythe's comments on each one of his selections, go to this location.

LAMB OF GOD is planning on filming its upcoming shows for a tour documentary, presumably to be included with the band's next DVD release.

"We are out on tour until October, and we will go to crazy places," LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler told AOL's Noisecreep. "Since we started touring for this cycle in December 2008, we've basically gone around the world twice, and in this next year we will again — to China, Russia, South America. We've done DVDs in the past, with concerts and behind the scenes. This time, we will bring a film crew on these runs with us, since we will be in such bizarre places like Singapore, where they don't even sell our records, but 10,000 kids will still show up. We want to document this music and how what we do crosses the language and commerce barriers. Hopefully, we will find some trouble along, and if someone gets in jail, it won't be too much trouble to get him out. It'll probably be Randy!"

Having recently wrapped up U.S. their tour with METALLICA, LAMB OF GOD received a second Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category — for the track "Set to Fail" from their latest album, "Wrath", which came out last year on Epic Records.

LAMB OF GOD was previously nominated in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the song "Redneck" from the band's 2006 album "Sacrament".

"Wrath" landed at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart back in February 2009 with first-week sales of over 67,000 copies.

Children/Corn was good when I was like 8 yrs old, people still think BWP was good? Massacre is a classic.
Rejects is nowhere near a horror movie. Seen the American version of the Ring. (that was enough)

For the record again I'm going with:

Evil Dead 2
Dawn of the Dead (Romero version)
Halloween (Carpenter version)
Suspiria

All great flicks but nothing out of the ordinary. There's a lot of cool underground and indie flicks out there. Check 'em out.

Can't wait to see Blythe in "The Graves" though.

Horns Up!!!

He's pretty false as far as horror movies go...he should broaden his horizons and check out some Argento, Bava, or Fulci.

TCM is amazing, though, of course.

not scary, but
Jacobs ladder for sheer brainfuck quality

Event Horizon for style

And lets not forget the long list of CRAPPY production, but superbly retro stylish 80's flicks when horror was still BIG trend (Terrorvision, House, Demons Pet Sematary, bad-taste etc etc)...

Oysh..! ... Getting old...!

I'm surprised, only The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a good film on that list. Here's what should be on every horror fans list:

Nosferatu (1922)
Frankenstein (1931)
Evil Dead II (Groovy)
The Thing
Alien
Psycho
Halloween (original)
Nightmare on Elm Street
Jaws
Anything by Mario Bava or Dario Argentino

So much good horror out there

all insanely awesome!

Donnie Darko is a good movie but not horror at all. Just because there is a dude in a semi evil bunny suit doesn't make it horror.

dude, that list is awesome!!!

Fucking Re-animator???? Wow, so many people forget about that film - total classic!

American Warewolf in London was the first film I thought of. I think Lamb of Dookie sucks but I love this topic (horror films).

So few people have seen "Demons." It's such a Heavy Metal horror film. They used a bunch of metal songs for the soundtrack too so it was even cooler.

Return of the living dead is hilarious. It's very campy like Evil Dead I & II but it's GREAT!!!

Glad you posted what you did bro and again GREAT LIST! Some others that came to mind were...

Hostel (only the first one)
Saw (only the first one)
Psycho I
Psycho II
Ghost Story
Angel Heart
Jaws
Nightmare on Elm Street
Halloween 1 & 2

Blair Witch and Texas Chainsaw are just very very overated films.

Chainsaw is epic, dawn of the dead remake is sick as is the original, but the one movie that messed me up as a kid was chucky. I only saw a preview of it when I was like 4 and I couldn't even walk into a blockbuster video without my parents covering up the video case of it. I know it's honestly as scary as the boogeyman to us but I was fucked up as a kid.

The some of the new French horrow movies take the vote:

1. Martyrs - Most brutal movie in quite some time
2. Inside - Almost as brutal as Martyrs
3. Hellraiser 2 - Imagine what Clive Barker would do given no restraints...This is as close as it gets...Honorable mention to Lord of Illusions
4. Necromantik - Uggggh
5. Frontier(s) - New school Texas Chainsaw but much more gory...
