GUNS N' ROSES completed a four-date tour of Asia in December and a Canadian tour earlier this month.
The band has not booked any U.S. dates yet.
GUNS N' ROSES' last world tour, in 2006 and 2007, took in 60 shows in 26 countries and was the band's first full tour since 1993.
In addition to sole original member Rose, the current lineup of the band includes guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.
GUNS N' ROSES' latest album, "Chinese Democracy", was released in November 2008 as a Best Buy exclusive, 17 years after the last all-original GUNS sets, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". The album was a commercial disappointment, selling less than one million copies in the U.S. (according to Nielsen SoundScan) despite the long wait.

Pigchop, pigchop, pigchop... What is with the running gag of altered photos and these guys?
Anyway, saw them in Halifax, I was front row. And all I have to say is, it sucks to be an American. I met a girl from Florida who was beside me at the show, and she explained to me the attitude of Americans and GnR. And it sent her on a road trip to Canada. And I agree with Axl giving the finger to the U.S when all everybody wanted to see was him fail. Which, he didn't by the way. Because newsflash, not going number on U.S. charts does not speak on behalf of just about every other chart in the world where C.D. went number one, including Canada, hence why we were treated to a fucking awesome show.
Axl is the last great frontman of our time, so rather than bitching about him, perhaps embrace it. He's the last of the rock stars. So, U.S.A, enjoy Lady Gaga, because that's what you guys wanted.

can play whatever European or South American venues they want. He knows he can't sell in America because nobody thinks he, or his GnR scab-band are good enought to wait around until midnight when he decides to get off his ass and play.
Axl the last of the rock stars? Hardly. Axl and Kanye Wes should get together and write a bookl on how to be a has-been washed-up douchebag.
And don't talk about chart-position. In Europe, David Hasselhoff and Jennifer Love Hewitt are huge. In Canada, they think Nickelback and Avril Lavigne are awesome.
Yeah??? Blah, blah, blah, blah-fucking blah..... I saw the latest Toronto show and it kicked serious ass. Not every Canadian thinks nickelcrack or avril lavagina are awesome either. I think they suck shit myself along with pretty much every other Canadian band. Especially 3 days of diarhea. Now, there's a real hunk of crap, poseur band for you, right there.

Acutually, being from Canada, I've yet to meet a Nickleback fan or Avril Lavigne fan. It's the U.S. that made them mainstream, not Canada. Just because this is where they're from (unfortunately), that doesn't mean we love them.
And Axl had one late show this entire tour, so....ballbustr, ya got your facts wrong.
Also, name me one rockstar to come out since Axl? Since him, it was crunge garbage and hiphop. So fuck the U.S. Like I said, it's the U.S. that makes Lady Gaga and hiphop crap so huge, so it seems to me every other country is within their right minds to support C.D. and the new line up.
You guys can have Slash, he blends in perfectly with the American idea of good music. Just like his performance at the Grammy's. Ugh, T-Pain and Slash, sick.

Summer tour in US will be announced with like 30 to 35 dates. First ten shows or so will go fine with one or two starting a little late. Then one show they'll actually bust down on Axl with all the BS the happens behind the scenes to make a show happen(ie: curfew, setlist times, arena contracts, etc. etc.). He'll get all pissed off as usual. Go AWOL and the tour ends. In the end us fans get f'd over as usual.

You can't stop him or GNR.

I hope they play Estranged, Civil War, or Breakdown in South America.

I guess the Americans aren't deluting their senses, suspending believe, and paying $100+ for something that isn't GNR. Axl is not GnR on his own. I'll give you the fact he was a great front man, in 1988-90. (until he became Cher, with the costume changes, buying into his bogus image of what a phony rockstar should be). Can you image Robert Plant or Mick Jagger going out with another band, and calling it Led Zep, Rolling Stones? This is just as ridiculous. And he can't even keep the new members he has.
No, I don't think GnR should reunite, it was a SuperNova, it came & passed. Slash is on his way to selling out I'm afraid. They don't like each other. Fine. But don't shove this solo act, with faceless side musicians copying Slash's riffs note for note, as Guns & Roses, and charge me $100....I don't care if these players can play rings around Slash, the reason I liked GnR to begin with was they had attitude, they rocked. They WEREN"T concerned with tapping up & down the fret board, guitar gymnastics. They were the new Stones/Aerosmith. So who cares if he has the latest GunSlingers.
I might go see what Axl was up to if he stopped the sham, played a few GnR, supported his new solo album, and played theaters(cuz that's all he'd play if he didn't hide behind the GnR name), for $50.
you are an Axl apologist, that twists the facts. Ask Geffen, or Best Buy if Chin Dem was a hit, anywhere. IT was a flop, commercially. Major disappointment. Artistically, that is subjective, but it was a financial bust, 100%....so Canada can have them....and Rock, unfortunately, is dead in America & Canada. THere are no new good rock acts. American or Canadian.
COMMENT | posted by : cosyninja 2/10/2010 4:19:43 PM
I'm not an Axl apologist. I just learned to accept what is given. And because rock is dead, I am embracing Axl because he is what is left, even if it's not the way it was back in the day. Axl as a front man was, and still is if you allow him, the modern day Mick Jagger and Freddie Mercury. No one since his reign on rock has come even close to his stage presence and charisma. Not even close. So I'm not going to be an elitist about it. Because if not Axl being a reflection of the good ol' days of 'sex drugs and rock n roll', who else? The frontmen since Axl are a joke. They just don't understand the stage or how to be original. And they're simply not interesting people. They don't have the 'ragz to riches' background Axl does. Most acts you see today are formulated in their parents basement, funded by their parents, and given rides to their first gig by their parents. Guns were street trash who rose up by determination and perseverance. 99% percent of mainstream acts you see today would have given up the first month if they walked the shoes GnR did before they made it big.
I, like you, would give my left nut to see the original line up, but it's not going to happen, so in the meantime, I'm not going to pass up seeing the closest thing to it. I mean, we all go to concerts to see only a fraction of the talent of Axl, so why would I pass up the real thing? Even if it's only part of it. I've seen at least 70 concerts in my life, and no one commands the stage and audience the way Axl does, so I would be pretty stupid to pull an elitist attitude just because Slash is not in the mix. And I paid my tribute Slash as well, I saw VR as soon as I had the chance. I didn't snub him just because Axl wasn't in the lineup, so I'm not going to do the same to Axl.
Anyway, C.D. was only a commercial flop because people wanted to see him fail or because the rock n roll demographic has changed significantly since the Illusions came out. But that doesn't stop it from being a borderline masterpiece. And who cares if it's overproduced, I don't throw away my Sgt. Pepper album for being the most overproduced album in the history rock n roll do I? No way.
Good chat by the way.
P.S., the tickets were only $67 for the floor.
