ENSLAVED Answers Fan-Submitted Questions - Feb. 13, 2010
Fans sent in their questions via Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and Norwegian masters of progressive/experimental metal ENSLAVED answered them during their time in the studio during the recording process for their upcoming album. Watch the results in four parts below.

ENSLAVED is recording its new CD at Duper, Earshot (keyboardist Herbrand Larsen and lead guitarist Ice Dale's facility) and Peersonal Sound (owned by rhythm guitarist Ivar Bjørnson) studios in Bergen, Norway.

Regarding the songwriting process for the new album, Ivar Bjørnson recently said, "After 'Vertebrae', it has been a hectic period, with shows, tours and everything that is going on around the band. Yet it has been a remarkably self-energizing process making this new album. For starters, the dynamics have never been better, both literally in the music — and metaphorically, meaning the working climate within the band.

"Writing music is rewarding when you know the other members will take your ideas seriously and give everything they've got to make the best out of every single idea. The amazing feedback we've gotten after 'Vertebrae' hasn't exactly made us more modest: We picked up some very valuable confidence from that. A third pillar of inspiration is the continuing ideological struggle against the dogmas: political, monotheistic, moral dogmas that keep getting a stronger and stronger chokehold on man. Some dangers are growing while others are on the rebound (for now). ENSLAVED is an ongoing project to channel alternative currents; resistance to those trying to force-fit the mind into the tiny squares of one-doms and tyrannies."

Opeth isn't that great, but certainly better than all of this metalcore or whatever its called. Im tired of hearing those bands, and seeing them everytime I go to a show. They all sound the same, their names are half of a sentence, and they play shitty sets.

Don't ask.....

"Opeth" sounds somewhat similar to the word for "vinegar" in my language.
And that's exactly how they sound.

I for one am not crying - Opeth make me sick, so I don't listen to them and there's no need to cry. I adore Enslaved. May I please have an opinion?
