ILL NINO, SPINESHANK, SKRAPE, 40 BELOW SUMMER: First Tour Dates Announced

ILL NINO and SPINESHANK will be embarking on a co-headlining tour beginning on September 5 in Albany, New York, with 40 BELOW SUMMER and SKRAPE in tow. The jaunt runs through Sept. 29. ILL NINO and SPINESHANK will alternate the closing slot each night of the tour. A few dates have just been announced with more to come shortly.
SPINESHANK will release their third album, "Self-Destructive Pattern", on September 9. Meanwhile, ILL NINO will release their sophomore effort, "Confession", on September 30.

Spineshank and Ill Nino may fall into the nu-metal genre of music, but there's no rapping to either band. Skrape, to my recollection, isn't a rap metal band either. (I haven't heard much of 40 Below Summer, but, in my opinion, they suck with or without rap.) And there's nothing wrong with introducing elements of rap to metal, assuming it's done well. Like Ice-T's Body Count or 3rd Strike.

I actually like that song. I thought that was a good blending of metal and rap. And, really, with the way Barnes sings...did it even sound like he was rapping?

Best band on the bill right now. They're not rap metal though.....Max Illidge approaches some of the songs in the way Zack De La Rocha does.....Sometimes with a fastpaced scream, or lyrical outburst. It's good stuff. Wither Away, and Endorphin(e)s are both swell songs, and worth downloading just to get a feel for them.
