HYDROGYN Parts Ways With Guitarist JEFF YOUNG

Ashland, Kentucky based hard rockers HYDROGYN have parted ways with guitarist Jeff Young (ex- MEGADETH). In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET earlier today by HYDROGYN's management company, The Paramour Group LLC, the band's frontwoman, Julie Westlake, stated about Young's exit from the group, "After five months of recording the new [ HYDROGYN] album [ 'Judgement'] with Jeff, it has become very obvious that our personalities and work ethic are very different. I worked alongside Jeff to complete three songs that he brought in for the album, and I must say, I'm just not pleased. Knowing it would have been an argument if anything was said, and trying to give him the opportunity to take part in the writing of the album, as the release date draws near, I just don't want them on the album because I don't think they are strong enough, and knowing what kind of tension it would cause, I just really feel that this is just not a good fit." HYDROGYN's new album, "Judgement", is still set for an early October release. Former MEGADETH/ BLACK LABEL SOCIETY bassist James Lomenzo played bass on "Judgement" but will not be part of HYDROGYN's touring lineup when the band hits the road in support of the new CD. The group's last CD, "Deadly Passions", came out in 2008. The effort, which was recorded in Huntington, West Virginia's Smash Hits Studio, included a cover version of ALANIS MORISSETTE's mega-smash "You Oughta Know".

Wow that didn't last long. A month ago it was "great, we have 1/2 of Megadeth in this band."
As much as I'd like to like Hydrogyn, they haven't really done anything that has stood out from the crowd.
Suggesting that Jeff Young can't write or play .. hmm.. not sure how to take that. On the one hand has hasn't done much, but neither has Hydrogyn.
It's probably just musical differences

Jeff Young was too good for that band. Hearing about James LoMenzo moving on, and now Jeff, I think that goes to show that Hydrogyn have pretty much died a slow death. Big boobs, a mediocre voice, and a below average guitar player can only get you so far. Looking forward to the see the "re-vamped" Hydrogyn as a duo from now on playing at a Quaker Steak & Lube near you!!

You people who are slamming Jeff are fucktards... He had every right to slam Mustaine. You say he didn't answer the drug question properly, he DID. He claimed he was 'never an addict' but he did 'try some heroin with slash'. There's a massive difference between an addict who will cancel a tour, and someone who tries heroin once or twice. Mustaine has talked shit about his ex bandmates for years, even though he can't play half as good as they can (at lead guitar, anyway), so Jeff had every right to complain when he claimed he wrote his guitar solos for him!

Considering he wrote most of Hammet's solos, didn't seem far fetched that he wrote Jeff Young's. I'm sure Jeff will make more comments about Dave when he joins another shit band. The only significant thing he's accomplished was 25 years ago. Then gets booted from this band. He's a bitter loser. Mustaine is a bitter winner. I'd rather be he latter.

Yup, He started talking crazy in a Mustaine vein, but after all he's human...being called "a drug addict who caused a tour cancellation" by a then REAL JUNKIE like Mustaine, plus putting up with countless stupid and personal stories told by Mustaine in the press.
Everyone has a boiling point, I guess. I like Mustaine, but with Young he was the real douche, after more than 20 years he should have show a bit of class.

Jeff Young is a good gutarist,but I think he suffers from an overblown ego,and as good as he is,Mustaine can still run circles around him.Just listen to his guitar work iN Holy Wars.Don't think Jeff Young would have been capable of this kind of guitar playing.As far as the rest of Hydrogyn,I'm sure they will be ok.I just discovered them a few week ago and think they are very talented.My only complaint is that they need to focus more on the rest of the band and not just the singer in their promo videos.She has a good voice,but I believe she is being used as a sex object to get peoples attention,and this is sad as talented as they are.

Well at least they have been trying for as long as they have. More than you can say for many posters on here that are not in or have never even been in a band. I understand the publicity stunt....What band out of any band that ever made it big, didn't have a bit of stunts or underlying inconsistency in their history. Hopefully they get Chris "Chicken" Sammons back and a kick ass drummer and move forward. Deadly Passions was a good album, and I'm sure with the exception of what I have heard so far on the blogs and stuff, there should be a few good songs on the new one as well. Hopefully the stuff they have posted so far isn't the end result cause I know Jlo can sing much better and match the music much better than the stuff that they played during the last blog or maybe an earlier one. Wishing any band that tries hard the best, thank God everyone has different taste of music would be boring as hell

First of all i just want to say smackbs is no doubt Jeff Westlake at his finest.
Second, this album consists of Gold Dust Woman - a re-make, 3 songs by Jeff Young & 2 songs, Lost Reality & Self Destruct, that they stole from Suffer / Triggersoul. So really how "talented" are they? Their entire album is other REAL artists music minus the 4 shitty songs they probably stole from someone else. This album blows. They butchered Lost Reality and Self Destruct and if I were Greg Reeves - the writer of those two songs - I would be absolutely furious that these no talent hacks are trying to release his songs on this shit hole album. As for the album cover, what is that supposed to be? Grunge? Please, looks like Young put it to Julie really hard, left her layin' and took some after shots. That is the shittiest attempt at grunge I have EVER seen. Where's the rest of the band?? Lomenzo WAS the ONLY thing going for this band and he made a smart move getting away from these greedy no talent hacks. The only two songs on the album, as far as I am concerned, that are any good are Lost Reality and Self Destruct. Look at their "first review" done by Westlakes "friend" as a favor to him, yea that's right it wasn't even a real review. All it talks about is Gregs Songs. You should hear them the way they were meant to be heard, in fact they are still on www.myspace.com/triggersoulrocks It is a shame that Greg didn't get to release his album because of an untimely passing of his guitar player and best friend Aaron Roe and these "no talent hacks" are trying to make money on this bands misfortunes. Greg, if you see this brother, DON'T let them do this to you! Man, Aaron would not want some big (fake) titty wanna be that allows her "husband" to pimp her out singing your guys songs, let alone butcher them. Greg, I hope you make a come back and release that album it is AWESOME. I love you brother!! IMOA SUFFER ROCKS Look up Greg Reeves on myspace, listen to the original tracks and let him know how YOU feel about this shotty attempt at stolen fame.
