ARCH ENEMY, NASUM, KATATONIA Nominated For MANIFEST Award - Jan. 9, 2004
ARCH ENEMY, NASUM, KATATONIA, CULT OF LUNA and BURST are nominated for a Manifest award in the category "Best Hard Rock/Punk."

The event will take place at Debaser in Stockholm on January 29 at 8:00 p.m. CET.

The Manifest Awards are being held by SOM (Svenska Oberoende Musikproducenter) (Swedish Independent Musicproducers), an organization that consists of over 100 record labels.

"Best Hard Rock/Punk" Nominees:

ARCH ENEMY – "Anthems of Rebellion"
BURST – "Prey On Life"
CULT OF LUNA – "The beyond"
KATATONIA – "Viva Emptiness"
NASUM – "Helvete"

...only deserve a golden turkey award for AOR. I'd probably go for Katatonia over Nasum, but it's a close call.

How come they don't have an awards show like this in the US? Lord knows we have silly awards for every other god damn thing out there.
By the way, I vote for Arch Enemy too.

If I was to rank these albums, it'd probably be: 1. Nasum 2. Katatonia 3. Burst 4. Arch Enemy 5. Cult of Luna (I havent heard their album yet, maybe it's really good though)

I heard that the singer from Arch Enemy is also in the running for the "least convincing post-op transexual" award.

The fact that guys think that (s)he's hot confirms one of the biggest cliches in this genre: Metal guys can't get laid and would fuck the hair on a stylist's floor if they had the chance...

Id hardly call Nasum 'hard rock or punk' but the fact that their own country is giving them some recognition is good.
