JAG PANZER Select Producer For Upcoming CD
- Jan. 30, 2004
Colorado power metallers JAG PANZER have begun the songwriting process for their new album, tentatively due in September through Century Media Records.
"After the brief detour of producing ourselves ('Decade of the Nail Spike Bat') we're back [working] with [producer] Jim Morris for the next studio album," guitarist Mark Briody revealed in an online posting.
"About half of the album is written and so far it sounds like a more aggressive version of [2001's] 'Mechanized Warfare'."
JAG PANZER's most recent release, "Decade of the Nail-Spiked Bat", was a two-CD set containing the best tracks from the group's pre-Century Media releases ("Tyrants" EP, "Ample Destruction", "Dissident Alliance" and the "Chain Of Command" bootleg) re-recorded "as if they were new songs," according to Briody.

One of the best power metal bands out there. Mechanized Warfare was one hell of a great album!

Mechanized Warfare sounded awesome with the Morrisound production, and Jag Panzer is one of my favorite power metal bands-this should be good.
It's about time! Mechanized was an awesome CD and Jag is amazing live.

I was a bit let down by "Decade of the Nail Spiked Bat" but Mechanized Warfare was an excellent album, one of the best power metal CDs of the last five years. I'm psyched for the follow up!

Century Media will still release Chain Of Command at around the same time as the new album! I was really happy when MW came out about a year after TTTT, and I'm glad the hiatus is over! Decade was really cool, and it made complete sense to self-produce it. But for a new album, I'm glad Morrisound will be used again.
