It's Official: BUCKETHEAD Quits GUNS N' ROSES!

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET exclusively reported here yesterday, guitarist Buckethead has officially left GUNS N' ROSES. According to MTV.com, Buckethead became fed up with GUNS' inability to complete an album or tour and stopped working the group late last year, his manager said. Although Buckethead appeared on the green carpet at the Grammy Awards last month and was introduced by PARLIAMENT/ FUNKADELIC bassist Bootsy Collins as a member of GUNS N' ROSES, he had already told GUNS frontman Axl Rose he no longer wanted to be in the band, the manager told MTV.com. The guitarist will now focus on numerous projects, including two solo albums — "Population Overdrive" and "Cuckoo Clocks of Hell" — which are due this summer. GUNS N' ROSES are scheduled to headline the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 30. It is unclear whether the band will have a new guitarist by then. GUNS N' ROSES' label would not comment on Buckethead's departure, according to MTV.com.

Why? Simple. Every time that a member of the new GNR leaves, Axl insists on getting someone new and re-recording all of that person's parts. That takes time. In fact, it talkes so damn much time that by the time it's done, another member leaves, is replaced, and the whole charade starts over again.
Axl has talent, old GNR had talent, Axl's new musicians have talent. But, unless Axl totally changes his way of operating, you won't see any new material from them for a long, long, LOOONG ass time.

I wonder if part of the hold-up is that the new album is supposed to have a song called "The Catcher in the Rye." There's no way J. D. Salinger would let that go--he has already blocked publication of biographies about himself by taking the authors to court and winning. Maybe Axl is waiting for Salinger to die so he can get the album out without problems (he's in his 80s). In reality, Axl probably doesn't give a shit, but if this cd ever comes out, there will be a lawsuit.

Let's cut the crap for once and face the obvious reality staring us in the face: Axl Rose is insane. He's a certifiable nut. It's one of the main reasons why he isn't still playing w/Slash, Duff and Matt, and it's THE reason why Chi-Dem is taking so damn long.
Idiots will blame Buckethead, but WHO THE FUCK CAN BLAME HIM??? He's a musician, for chrissake, not a robot who can wait, year after year, for his band to actually release an album or complete a tour. Nobody sane needs 7 fucking years to complete an album. Axl is obsessed with making the album perfect, and terrified that it won't succeed, so instead of putting the damn thing out, he just keeps tinkering, year after year after year.
Meanwhile, musicians, being human, keep leaving. So, what does Axl do? Keep their parts? Noooooo! He's too fucking vengeful and paranoid, so he has to re record everything. Combine that with his paranoid perfectionalism, and that makes the album take longer, which makes more musicians leave, which makes the album take longer... THIS IS FUCKING INSANITY PEOPLE.
Maybe he would snap out of it if he didn't have obsessive fans and buttkissing hangers on who applaud everything he does. But, every time he does something totally stupid, like re-record all of a brilliant guitarists parts (like he did with kickass drummer Josh Freese, with lousy guitarist Paul Huge, and the way he is reported to have done w/Finck--wonder THAT dude came back!) then you have all of these people saying "Oh Axl! You're NEVER WRONG!" so he just gets away with it.
Could Axl prove me wrong? Sure he could. The best thing he could do is finish the damn record NOW (I mean, in the next couple of months) show his other musicians that he isn't going to diddle around for a few more decades, so that they won't leave, too. Also, LEAVE BUCKETHEAD'S PARTS ON--the least he could get for years of unrewarded patience is that. If Axl thinks that Buckethead has to come off Chi-dem just to satisfy his ego, then he's just proving he's insane, and he's guaranteeing that the record will take years more to finish, which just makes it all go on and on and on and on.
Stop kissing Axl's ass, everyone. He needs tough love. He needs loyal fans to say "fuck you if you won't put out Chi-Dem." He needs people like Finck and Stinson and Mantia to say "finish the album or we go." And, he needs some serious treatment for his mental disorder. Otherwise, y'all get Smile pt. II--a record that was supposed to come out in 1967 which MIGHT finally come out in the next year or so. MIGHT. That's what Brian Wilson fans and associates got for pretending that insanity isn't--nearly 40 fucking years of waiting, and that's why Axl fans, associates and bandmembers have been getting and will CONTINUE to get, unless they pull their fucking heads out of their asses. Buckethead voted w/his feet, now it's your turn.

He could probably put out a 5-disc set, "The Chi-Dem Sessions" of just the stuff that's been recorded. But Axl is an anal-retentive bastard and has to have everything perfect (including his face.) Robin Finck was born on November 7, 1971. He grew up in Marietta, Georgia.
Finck joined GN'R in 1996. After working on the new album for a couple of years he returned to Nine Inch Nails, went on tour with them, but then came back to GN'R in 2000.
His presence alone brought cool factor into the new GNR. He is the epitome of coolness, really unique in his ways and his looks. And even his posture, his walk, there is confidence, a lot of emotion and artistry and style that make him such a figure on stage.
His guitar riffs are heavy and raw, his rhythms as heavy as any nu-metal guitar band could hope for. He tempers his screaming leads with soulful control, is also a maestro of pure, string-ripping noise.
Watch Finck's face and body, he feels the notes in his guts and his body expresses that along with his fingers and a combination of that gives you shivers when you watch somebody live.

Let's cut the crap for once and face the obvious reality staring us in the face: Axl Rose is insane. He's a certifiable nut. It's one of the main reasons why he isn't still playing w/Slash, Duff and Matt, and it's THE reason why Chi-Dem is taking so damn long. Idiots will blame Buckethead, but WHO THE FUCK CAN BLAME HIM??? He's a musician, for chrissake, not a robot who can wait, year after year, for his band to actually release an album or complete a tour. Nobody sane needs 7 fucking years to complete an album. Axl is obsessed with making the album perfect, and terrified that it won't succeed, so instead of putting the damn thing out, he just keeps tinkering, year after year after year. Meanwhile, musicians, being human, keep leaving. So, what does Axl do? Keep their parts? Noooooo! He's too fucking vengeful and paranoid, so he has to re record everything. Combine that with his paranoid perfectionalism, and that makes the album take longer, which makes more musicians leave, which makes the album take longer... THIS IS FUCKING INSANITY PEOPLE.

BTW, I was just on the board at Here Today, Gone to Hell (GNR site) and most of the people there seem convinced that Brian (drummer) will leave as well, since he's really tight w/Buckethead and in another band w/him.
They were speculating over replacements: Some hoped that Alder and Izzy would come back, but others said Izzy would never play w/Axl again. Some other names people hoped would join: Gilby, Slash, Zakk Wylde, Brian May. A lot of people pointed out that Gilby and Izzy are rhythm guitarists, so if Axl wants 2 lead players, then it doesn't make much sense. Everybody agreed that Brian May would kick ass and bring massive talent/cred, but who knows whether he would even consider it or whether Axl would want him.
Others feared that Paul Huge ("Hoogie"), by most accounts, a no-talent old bud of Axl's that Matt, Duff and Slash blame for their leaving the original band. Seems that Huge is very unpopular w/GNR fans.
Some others said that GNR should just go back to being a two-guitar band.

I'm still one of your biggest fan in the world, I still listen and I always listen all Guns n' roses albums at least once a week, but... I'm a fan, not a fanatic!!!!!!
It's time to quit the music business, to return to your beautiful home and to live a quiet life!
Brain will probably quit soon too (he's a big Buckethead friend), Fortus could be a great solo guitarist for the band, but not Robin (and, believe me, I like Robin a lot, but he was more interesting in Nine inch nails). If you have to hire a new drummer, call the excellent Dave Abbruzzese, and if you want another solo guitarist, call Jerry "god" Cantrell!

Looks like I'm a little late to the party. Thanks for the heads-up Gringo; you had some excellent posts again, by the way. Axl IS CERTIFIABLY NUTS!! I've been saying the same thing for years.
I used to love this band, but what kind of sane person would still like Axl after all the crap that's happened over the last few years... I said sane, T-Boner doesn't qualify.
BTW Boner, I know you and have had our battles, but I actually do like you. For someone that claims they don't have a lot time, Borojiv sure finds the time to ban you. That I can't really understand.

Maybe he thinks he is; that would obviously be part of his problem, if it's the case. Who knows?!
Whatever the case, and like I said the other day, I do think that one of his main problems is the fear of failure. That was one of the reasons given for his cancelling the last tour. When he sold out MSG, he was afraid to to go back to playing half-empty arenas. So rather than face that reality, he went back into his shell and hit the eject button on the tour.
This is probably the main thing delaying Chi.-dem. He's afraid that the album will bomb, so rather than facing that reality, he keeps post-poning the release.
I think if he did release it and it did tank, he would probably go Cobain and do himself in right there and then.
At least then, though, we'd probably hear all the other unreleased material. I remember Moby being asked about it 5 years ago when he was attatched to the project. He said Axl had about 7 albums worth of material that he'd recorded. 7 FREAKIN' ALBUMS!!! Imagine how more material he has all these years later!!!!
The easy thing to do would be to just release it, but you know it's never going to happen.
I'll say it again: CHI-DEM WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY!!!!

Yeah, that's what I read. If I remember correctly, it was in a Rolling Stone article that came out about 5 years ago. I think it was in the same article where Axl admitted that Izzy had come to his house a few months earlier, but refused to see him. For some reason, he didn't even have the decency to say anything to the guy and just waited for him to leave as he watched on the security cameras. Nice guy, huh?!
