DANZIG And DOYLE Announce Hollywood Show

DANZIG and DOYLE (featuring ex-MISFITS guitarist Doyle) have added a Dec. 29 show at the Key Club in Hollywood, CA to their itinerary. The Key Club box office is accepting orders now, but the Ticketmaster on-sale is Thursday (Dec. 9) at 10:00 a.m. Confirmed dates so far are as follows:
Dec. 28 – Las Vegas, NV @ The Joint (Hard Rock Casino)
Dec. 29 – Hollywood, CA @ Key Club
Dec. 30 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Wiltern Theatre
Glenn Danzig and Doyle are expected to perform a special MISFITS set at the shows, which will mark their first joint appearance in 20 years. "It's the closest thing to a MISFITS reunion anyone is ever going to see!" Danzig had previously said.
As previously reported, Glenn Danzig was recently expected to enter the studio to start recording his "Black Aria 2" project, the material for which has apparently been written for five years. An early 2005 release is anticipated.

well, never been a big Misfits fan nor do i own any of their albums, but i guess this is kinda cool news especially for the big fans who've wanted anything resembling a reunion. cool shit.

this was to be a full blown tour..but thanks to mayhem booting their singer(maniac) it had to be cancelled!!! to think, glenn would rather do BLACK ARIA 2 than a tour! BOGUS!!!
and if jerry only was to ever grace a stage with glenn--then i would not go...jerry only cant even play with himself...glenn showed him everything he knew...it was danzig who wrote the misfits material...drums...lyrics guitar and bass was all glenn...
this is going to be one kick-ass bootleg!!!

the Blackest of the Black tour was cancelled before Mayhem changed singers, AGAIN.
And the tour could have continued regardless of whether or not Mayhem could have participated. Danzig is the one who cancelled the tour, but I don't recall what reason was given...

i still stand by my comments of jerry only sucking.
besides, the current line-up of the MISFITS are nothing more than a shitty cover band...
you also gotta love the clip-on devil lock jerry only has, not to mention that he is a shitty wrestler...he should go back to working in the factory...
on a side note, maniac was booted from the band far before it was announced--that is why glenn cannned the tour..he wanted to do it with a black metal band...

blasphamer did say it was beyond their control..it was beyond their control that maniac was not commited to touring, which caused them to be dropped off the bill, which resulted in the tour being postponed...the whole thing had to do with maniac plain and simple, but it took danzig to give the final answer.
i understand a small part of it had to do with the fact that tommy viktor had some commitments as well...ya cant tour without your guitar player!!!!
you did site the source, but you failed to mention dates.
sorry i dont remember my source (it was probably blabbermouth!) but i did read these things--and unless we hear it from the man himself(danzig) then i would not put too much stock in blasphemer (satan bless his soul)

danzig comes in with an idea hums it to his guitarist and the guitarist has to figure out what he wants it to sound like. but he does take all the credit, which was a part of the rip in the misfits. oh yeah mayham suck!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah...no has yet to mention Glen getting his ass beat on video. I know it's old and tired but I feel it's important for no one to forget that.

No reason the blackest of the black wouldn't have succeeded. Was actually a couple metal bands on that tour with "the closest thing anyone is gonna see to a misfits reunion". Would have down well enough to pay its on way on the east coast. Should have happened

I flew from Chicago to Vegas yesterday just to see this show, which was in my opinion one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Mid-concert, Danzig had Doyle walk out in full Misfits gere, and then they fucking went into 20 EYES, and the place went insane....seeing Danzig, and Doyle together, while they did EARTH A.D., was not only AMAZING, but surreal, like "my God, is this realy happening!!?" SKULLS, DEVILS WHOREHOUSE, SHE, BLOODFEAST, and I almost forgot MOMMY CAN I GO OUT AND KILL TONIGHT!...I think HATEBREEDERS was also played...Glenn, THANKS! This was LONG overdue, and when he asked the crowd if they loved it, he said "not as much as I did"...so I'm guessing we have'nt seen the last of this..YOU MUST BRING THIS TO CHICAGO!! DONT STOP NOW!!! It was amazing, and worth the time and money I spent for it, also the rest of the Danzig set was great....not quite like the old band, but they were pretty good....The first 4 songs were new stuff, so they did'nt have the impact of the classics, but give them time..? It was a great show...I'm not gonna sit here and knock Jerry either, I'm a hardcore Misfits fan, and have seen what Jerry's been doing with Dez, amd Marky, and liked it, BUT this was REAL, the REAL sound of the MISFITS...AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the guy that said "danzig did not and does not write his own music"... I say this: HAVE YOU EVER HEARD/SEEN THE "WHO KILLED MARILYN" 7"??? It is NOT The Misfits, it is JUST Glenn playing EVERYTHING! Yes, he wrote & recorded that whole thing by himself! He also DID write almost all of the Misfits & Samhain stuff as well, no matter what you think/heard.
He is the major writer for the Danzig band as well, as evident by THE SONG WRITING CREDITS on the EVERY record!
I have been a fan since the mid-80's of Danzig, through The Misfits & Samhain, as well as early Danzig material(though not much of the last few records). Seeing Glenn & Doyle on stage together was GREAT! I went to the Wiltern Theatre show & aside from poor sound & crappy security goons, it was a show I will never forget!
Danzig is known for being very self righteous & has an attitude than some people don't like. I remember seeing him on stage in the late 80's & being annoyed at his holier-than-thou attitude... but at The Wiltern show, he was such a audience-friendly performer, and really was giving the crowd a show they'd never forget. He left his ego at home, and simply went out there to blow minds!
