AEROSMITH Guitarist Confirms Title And Release Date For Solo Album
- Dec. 8, 2004
AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry will release a solo album inthe spring. Perry said that he's got everything worked out, from the title to the release date to the tour plans. "It's gonna be called 'Joe Perry', and it's gonna come out, probably, March 28th," he told Launch Radio Networks. "We'll do some form of promotional tour around it — regular paying gigs, to live radio shows, and everything in between. Some festivals, maybe some House Of Blues, some Hard Rock Cafes, maybe just some theaters — just all different kinds of things."
This will be Perry's fourth solo album, after 1980's "Let The Music Do The Talking", 1981's "I've Got The Rock'N'Rolls Again", and 1984's "Once A Rocker, Always A Rocker".

...I don't know if it will sound like his early Project stuff, the first two JPP cd's kicked ass, the third sucked bad. I expect it to have a lot of blues, but I hope it isn't filled with a ton of power ballads like latter day Aerosmith is. They were my favorite band growing up, and their first four albums still kick ass. Joe has always been the coolest guy in my eyes, especially when he was a full blown junkie. Seems like he was creating his best riffs then, even though he was destroying himself and the band that made him famous.
