Were PANTERA Planning A Reunion? - Dec. 13, 2004
Singer Mike D. Williams of EYEHATEGOD, which features in its ranks SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist Jimmy Bower, has posted the following message at his Southern Nihilism Front web site:

"I know by now you've all heard this bullshit [about Dimebag being shot to death]... It's sad as fuck. I can't even put into words the scope of the violence involved in this... A couple of my other friends were shot as well.

"The fucked up thing is that the shooter was apparently pissed 'cos PANTERA broke up... The goddamn irony of it all is (nothing was set in stone), but they were just starting to talk about doing some reunion shows and put all their petty differences aside.

"What a fuckin shame... I got tons a stories about how much fun we had whenever we hung w/ Dime, staying at his house, BBq'ing and generally getting blitzed, cuttin' up and talkin' trash... Blasting D.A. COE and KISS with that freakin dry ice machine/light show in his living room(!!) and even going fishing w/him in Arlington. We'll never forget all that. The dude lived to have a good time.

"...Roll the dice and do a shot of Blacktooth for ya boy..."

A tribute show to Pantera/Damageplan to raise funds for umm.....

Well, ummm...... I don't think "Mental Illness" would be top priority, but anyways, maybe a solidarity thing like they did for QUEEN when Freddie died...

A tribute show with the monies going to the to the families of those murdered is in order here.
I know they have the trust fund set up as well for the families, and they accept paypal.

this makes me wonder if Phil was talking trash on purpose to throw the fans off of any possible reunion, kind of a surprise to us all. oh that bastard that did this.... again i say, burn eternal you monster.

there should be a huge benefit show for all that perished with the funds going to the families and victims.

As much as I was wishing and hoping for a Pantera reunion for a long ass time now...But didn't Phil say he hasn't talked to Dimebag in like three years now? I most definatly could be wrong though. Well I most definatly hope I am wrong.

I wish the fucker who doesn't deserve to be named was tortured, possibly by Dime's friends, family, and many many fans. Even though the stupid fuckin' "justice system" or whatever the fuck wouldn't allow it.

pantera only went away for a publicity stunt. not surprising in the slightest is it?

i found out earlier today they were actually planning the reunion thing. ironic indeed.

Wow, is that really true? If so, they played it off well. I was waiting for the eyehategod crew to speak out. I can only imagine the good times all those guys had. I hope the memorial is well covered. I thought the headbanger's ball special was very cool-too many commercials though.

This fucking sucks, PanterA would have ruled the world again.....

They should do a reunion show, with Zakk Wylde playing all of Dime's Guitar notes/lines/riffs/solos with the remaining members of Pantera and Damageplan.

Wow, I was hoping there would be a Pantera reunion... But I would have never guessed in a million years that Dime or any other bandmember (of any metal band, for that matter) would be shot to death on stage. That totally took me by surprise...

in which Phil said Dime was jealous and needed to be beaten severely?

I'm sure that Pantera would have eventually come to realize that it would be more profitable to for them to get back together (as Life of Agony and Motley Crue have learned). But in view of this story's SJR connection, I'm going to have to take it with a grain of salt.

The whole Pantera reunion thing was inevitable. C'mon guys, you know it was going to happen sooner or later. Its really fucking sad that this guy had to take Dime's life, though. I hope you rot eternally in Hell, you stupid fuck.

The shooter was mad that Pantera broke up, so he decides to kill off a former member (RIP Darrell) who he believes that he was the cause of the breakup. Did he believe that Pantera would never get back together or that by killing off a former member (RIP Darrell), the band would return?

He hasn't said shit, because he couldn't stand Dimebag. Anyone thinking that Pantera were going to reunite, especially after the short amount of time they were apart, is just a fucking idiot. You guys will believe anything that's fed to you.

I thought before Dimes death, that Pantera would be a likely band for Ozzfest 2005. I though how would they Top Ozzfest 04 with the priest reunion, and came up with the Pantera reuinion. Even before all this talk of a reunion I thought is was inevitable. Too bad some asshole had to take away someone so talented. R.I.P DIME!
