SEVENDUST Guitarist Quits Tour Due To 'Personal Issues' - Dec. 14, 2004
As of Tuesday morning, December 14, 2004, guuitarist Clint Lowery has left the current SEVENDUST tour due to "personal issues," according to an official statement. "SEVENDUST has made the decision to continue its present tour for its deserving fans and deliver a show one has come to expect from the SEVENDUST moniker," the statement continues.

SEVENDUST are continuing to tour behind their acoustic live CD/DVD, "Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live", available on TVT Records. Recorded and filmed at The Georgia Theater in Athens, GA, the set contains many of the band's greatest hits, including "Bitch", "Too Close To Hate", "Black", "Xmas Day", "Broken Down", and a cover of the NINE INCH NAILS/JOHNNY CASH classic "Hurt". The DVD side contains over two hours of live footage and tons of DVD extras.

Sevendust are one of my favorite bands and I never thought they deserved the dreaded "Nu Metal" title that a lot of dickheads throw out aimlessly. This sucks though, they've been the same band since 1995, so I hope he's not having issues with the rest of the band. They're truly getting better with every release and I really hope this isn't permanent.

I've had the oppurtunity to work with the band several times this year, even promoting one of their shows, talking to them backstage on several others. I have never noticed any major inner tension and hope he just needed an early break.

There are only 6 shows left on this leg of their tour and I know that the loss of Dimebag Darrell can add stress to any artist travelling on the road right now.

well sevendust is nu metal. they are however one of the few nu metal bands that actually have talent and are able to expand beyond the simplicities of the genre (another one being mudvayne)....sevendust is a great band who will be able to survive the collapse of nu metal....

How are people so quick to use the phrase "nu-metal" when describing a rock band that became popular during the time period from the end of the 90s to now? Don't they know that NU metal means RAP metal? These bands are nu-metal: Crazytown, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Darwin's Waiting Room. These bands are NOT nu-metal: Staind, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Sevendust. IF THEY DON'T RAP, THEY ARE NOT NU-METAL!!! I hate labels anyways, but if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

perhaps the tragedy of Dime has really affected him and he didn't feel comfortable on stage thinking about it too much. who knows, whatever it is, i hope it gets resolved and this doesn't become "leaves the band". 7dust kick ass

I really have to think this news is related to some kind of depression related to Dimebag's passing. At least Dime got to play with Vinnie. I wonder if Clint would bolt Sevendust just for the chance to get to play with Corey again, like they did in Still Rain.
