GODSMACK Singer Revising First Draft of Autobiography

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna is currently revising the first draft of his autobiography, which will look at his life up until the point GODSMACK signed its major label recording contract. Erna said that the as-yet-untitled book "is about what it took to get from Point A to Point B. It's not the autobiography that's so cliche that talks about all the girls we (slept with) and how many drugs we've done and... who cares. This is a cooler story for me." Erna also said that the book will have "a lot of morals and lessons to be learned in it."
Erna plans to start shopping the book to potential publishers in the new year. The singer also said that GODSMACK will start writing by spring and hopes to have a new album out in the fall.
GODSMACK will perform on New Year's Eve at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida.

I love the AIC comments.
Please explain to us, in detail, songs that Godsmack has recorded that sound anything like AIC.
They're nothing alike..but I guess it's cooler to just repost what everyone does. Jump on the Metallica bad/ Napster good bandwagon while you're at it.

I totally agree that AIC and Godsmack sound nothing alike. AIC redifined themselves with every album they released. Godsmack hasn't changed too much since thier first album. Ane at that point all they really had in common with Alice is the name they "borrowed". So I can understand why it bothers you when people compare apples and oranges, but hey if you had to steal a name, why not steal it from the best?

Is Sully short? Yes.
Is he talentless? Debatable, but I'd certainly say yes.
Did they rip their band name off of an AIC song and deny it? You betcha.
Does their music sound ANYTHING like AIC? No fucking chance.
I'd also love to hear a somewhat valid argument comparing an AIC tune to a Godsmack one and note significant similarities. Come on down!

they sound like generic hard rock a'la metallica load/reload
but they took their name from a song - and deny it...which is a joke
the way they write their bandname is similar
their first album is faceless...alices' was facelift...another similarity they deny.....
they release the "unplugged" recordings...lol

in case most people haven't figured out by now most bands play music that inspires them to get into music. Let me ask all you people out there playing instruments what songs do you practice?? the ones you like?? what influences the style of music you play??? your favourite bands??
so stop your whinging and get on living life not complaining about a band you don't like but are bothered to read their articles (who is the sucker?)

what if they have been out for 10 years? they have a right to do whatever they want. i am a big godsmack fan. they are friends with alice-n-chains and they got their name from the song. so what. mettallica and godsmack are friends too, most music now at days sound alike. its just the lyrics that seperate them. if you're really into music you would understand that there's more to the instruments, there's a meaning behind it too, called lyrics. their album names are different but similar. so what. godsmack has out four albums, it their way of doin it. and sokorny has a point, everyone is influenced by differnet bands thats how people get started, thats how they practice. get over it.

what is all of your fucking problems? If you don't like the band the why the fucking hell are you even lookin at this part of the site???! fuckers. Sully is a great guy, great voice, great looks, great personality. And he comes up with GREAT fuckin lyrics. he is so fuckin sexy!!!! I love this band. Godsmack is really great and if ya think they are so bad, then why the hell are they so successful?
people fuckin worship them! I totally agree with "macre" "sokorny" "craftle" and "Delaneye" They all got thier minds straight unlike the rest of you fucks.

Anyways, all in all, godsmack is my fav. band. they got some of the best shit out there!!!! Sully erna is fuckin sexy.
