GENE SIMMONS Named One Of The Worst Rock-Star Actors Of All Time

KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has been named one of the worst rock-star actors of all time, according to IrishExaminer.com.
Madonna, who has enjoyed phenomenal success as a pop superstar, but whose efforts on the silver screen have been met with an icy response from both critics and fans, landed at the top of the Top 25 list, which was compiled by the music magazine Blender.
Ozzy Osbourne landed in 21st place, THE SPICE GIRLS at 19th, Mick Jagger at 17th, and Sting at 24th.
The top 10 is as follows:

This news is total bullshit. Gene could be getting lousy at his rocknroller duties...but anyone that didn't see his performance in "Third Watch" as Donald Mann, and comes up with me that he is the worst actor..I would slap that person with a sledgehammer right away!!
That performance was a good piece of acting!!!

I guess that's it; although marilyn manson in "the heart is deceitful above all things" was actually quite a moving performance. So, two people have done it well.
Also, Dave Mustaine is the man, but christ he sucked on that SciFi show "Black Scorpion" or whatever it was. So add him on there.

That was a great film, and Gene did a rather fine job of playing the antagonist. He was pretty much widely praised for it at the time as well. I haven't seen much of the stuff he has done since, and likely it is mostly crap.

...."Wanted Dead or Alive" playing the role of terrorist Malak Al Rahim. That and his stint on "Third Watch" are his best work as an actor...Oscar worthy? No...but solid performances regardless.
On the other hand...be afraid of any cable showing 1986's "Never Too Young To Die"...Gene in drag...yikes.

I agree with the previous posts that Gene's performance on Third Watch, Runaway, and Wanted Dead or Alive were solid.....
As far as him being "a money grabbing piece of shit" , I think most of you critics would love to be in his shoes.
He makes no apologies for the fact he loves cash. He also said he is the cheapest son of a bitch on the planet. Whatever his philosophies may be, and whether or not you think he is a skilled musician or not, the guy has lead a very full and sucessful life.
At least he has the balls to say what he is all about and makes no bones about it.
