IN FLAMES Perform PANTERA's 'Fucking Hostile' For DIMEBAG, Victims For Asian Earthquake

IN FLAMES performed a cover of PANTERA's "Fucking Hostile" as a tribute to both "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) and the victims of the recent undersea earthquake and resulting tsunamis along South Asia's coasts during their headlining appearance at Monday night's (Dec. 27) "Hammered at Xmas" concert at London's Hammersmith Apollo. Meanwhile, support act CALIBAN from Germany were forced to abandon their set with technical problems; one of the band's guitars seemed to be broken, and after apologizing to the crowd, CALIBAN's singer reportedly declared that the group would cut short their performance. Also appearing on the bill were LACUNA COIL, CHIMAIRA and KOMA.

Does it matter if they have anything to do with death or death metal? no! they showed their respect and payed tribute to Dimebag Darrel and the shooting victims, as well as what happened in south Asia... that's not something to stomp in the ground, but you should applaud that...

i just watched that den tribute for DIME. Fuck! YEAH!! fuckin love that fucker. I bet that badass above us is loving the fact that dimebag is a household word. its sucks that we listen to dime's playing from a different light because of his passing. The legends die way too young. We seen it alot in music because of the impact of all types of music. Imagine Randy Rhoads shredding today, cmon we would bow before him. I have something to look foward too when I pass, its seeing Dime right at the gates screaming LIGHT EM UP.

I gained instant respect for In Flames in 2000 when I saw them in Houston.. It was a little club, 200 peeps or so, but they sounded great and tore the roof off!!! I respect and thank them for remembering Dime.
As far as the broken guitar, I'm not buying it, and even if it was a rig, the fuckers could have plugged into anyone's amp with any guitar and played a fucking set.. Having played shows myself, I'm just not buying it... Who knows...

Saw them with Slayer a couple years back and it rocked, I just wonder if when there is the next disaster some bands will be like..oh and this is for all the victims of this and Dimebag too!!!!

I never have been a fan of In Flames. Mainly i think because they're music isa so pussy!! I do have some respect for the attempting to cover "Fucking Hostile" which i'm sure sounded gay since they played it. Anyway, fuck 2004!!! This is the worst single year ever!! Dime, we all miss you!! I got it for chrstmas. Good shit. Reminds me of the good ole days about 2 weeks ago. i also got soundtrack to the apocalypse. also very kickass. You know DOWN should put out a DVD. Elektra really blew it when it came to that band.

Should put out another album too...every band that puts out an album during or just after hostile label/industry relations really steps it up a notch.
NIN with Broken, Tool with Aenima, Korn with TALINM(compared to the last few), Pantera with TGSTK(more just pissed at the industry than having problems with it, but still)...Elektra needs to give Down some good publicity or let them go to another label(at least pull a TVT, let them go but keep the rights to some royalties)
Business fucks music over every time.

FUCKING HOSTIIIIIIIIILE!!!! Music just doesn't get any ballsier than this. It's not the best song Pantera wrote, but it's a song no-one else could write, and also, it's THE song to play so you know who your friends are. Every good person in the world will be rocking their ass off to that song, and all the rest can go suck a dick. Any band that covers Fucking hostile is a good band, despite what bad music they've ever made.

Played shows with strings broken, monitors dead on stage(hence couldn't hear myself), even without club's PA once.

maybe becuase i had a friend who played them 24/7 in my head...i got fed up of even hearing the guy sing a note i guess...
i played a show 2 weeks ago...i wanted to vince neil the soundman also...hahah
the guy said the sound was fine..everything is fixed....i shouldn't touch the stuff because the guitar was loud enough...but when we started playing...i couldn't hear shit...the other band members couldn't either...and the fucker didn't do anything about it. fuck him.
atleast i didn't punch him.

I know I normally call you a piece of shit, but I totally agree with your post above! Metal does not = fast as fuck. And the slowest, melodic song can also be the heaviest at the same time. Anyone who plays an instrument (and is serious about it) has to realize that In Flames is awesome!! Some people just wouldnt know originality if it fucked em in the ass!!

I was there and they did a great job of playing about half of the song before going straight into Behind Space. I'm not a big fan of the new album but it was a good set by a very good band.
Those who call them sell-outs are just twats. they were never straight death metal to begin with anyway and if you've been slagging them off since The Jester Race then you need to get out more.

Fuck of guys most of you weren't there ALL the guitars and bass failed it wasn't just one guitar, all that was left was drums and vocals. In all fairness tho, they did try and managed 2 songs. It was a fucking awesome gig.

Uhh, why is that gay? It's very honourable thing of them to do! And saying In Flames has nothing to do with Death Metal is fucking stupid, listen to any of their album up to "Colony", they used to play melodic Death Metal and were one of the first and biggest of the New wave of Swedish Death Metal / Gothenburg sound. Fucking moron!

i was at the in flames gig and it was fucking amazing, they used alot of pyro's though. lacuna were fucking amazing and chimaira too. caliban played a poor 5 minutes which was pretty comical and mark hunter frm chimaira has no dredlocks no more :|
