OZZY OSBOURNE: Box Set Title Changed, Release Date Pushed Back - Jan. 4, 2005
OZZY OSBOURNE's upcoming box set has undergone a name change to "Prince of Darkness" from the previously announced "Bible of Ozz". In addition, the set's projected release date has been pushed back to Tuesday, March 22. No reason was given for the delay.

The 52-song set chronicles Ozzy's career via his biggest hits and most memorable collaborations, while including a separate disc with 10 newly recorded versions of his favorite songs by other artists. This means that Ozzy fans can hear the madman's very own renditions of classics by the ROLLING STONES, MOUNTAIN, MOTT THE HOOPLE, KING CRIMSON, and others.

The "Prince of Darkness" box set will be packaged in a weathered, collectable gothic book with new images of Ozzy taken by famed British photographer/artist Sam Taylor Wood. It will be come with a 60-page booklet that contains a complete career overview and rare Ozzy photos.

The first two discs in the set will encompass re-mastered versions of Ozzy's most popular solo smash hits. The third disc (which is entitled "Oddities and Duets") is comprised of some of Ozzy's most unusual collaborations. And the special fourth disc (called "Under Covers") is comprised of newly recorded covers as only Ozzy can deliver.

That is it, I`m not paying.
I`m sure it is all about an overpriced version of things we all heard thousand times before with new package, with some extrafilling that is hardly worthed.
were are the good sabbath live performances? for that I could expend a little.

Why would Ozzy include Sabbath in his solo boxed set? But, in case you didn't buy it yet... they did release a set of rare old Sabbath recordings about a year ago (3 cd set I believe) called Past Lives. It included the famous Paris concert.

I'm not really too interested in the two best of cds, but the other two cds sound pretty cool. I like it when good bands do covers cause they tend to have a cool twist to them. I hope Zakk played guitar on them!

Couse all the real good stuff he has ever made were with sabbath.
He would never became the prince of darkness with bark , train and MR . his carrer were much more based on Paranoid, iron man etc.
I Got the BS box , but I think the paper sleeve miniatures released in japan by teic were much better. I think you can only find then at www.diskheaven.com these days.

OzzY's solo stuff is great. I'll be buying this regardless of what Sharon's input is. She didn't perform on any tracks, did she???

He's right.....by now we've heard everything there is to hear. Even if there is more stuff "in the vault" it's crap. Sabbath was too f'ed up and their late 60's early 70's management was crap and took them for a ride. They got pennies on the dollar for what they generated moneywise. So to think these guys had their shit together and made quality live recordings is wishful thinking. Save your money, you've already heard it....check this link...they release like Hendrix...

...only way I'd drop a dime and buy this is if it were to contain the entire first two solo Ozzy CD's recorded as they were released, with Kerdlake and Daisley on them. Fuck the imitation shit with re-recorded bass and drums, its fuckin' Ozzy karaoke, as far as I'm concerned.
