DIMMU BORGIR To Re-Record Second Album; Summer Festival Appearances Planned

The following update has been posted at DIMMU BORGIR's official web site:
"Everyone! We just wanted to inform you, what's up in the DIMMU camp as we're about to leave a very eventful year… There haven't been many updates here lately, and the main reason for this is because we've pretty much kept a low profile since we came home from Ozzfest. Thanks to Ozzy and Sharon for the opportunity they gave us playing the mainstage, everything ran smoothly and professional. The way it should be.
"In the upcoming year we will first and foremost work on material for the next album, plus playing a very few exclusively selected festival dates during summer, which will be advertised here later as soon they're confirmed.
"In the meantime some of us will be working on other projects as well, while Shagrath [vocals] and Silenoz [guitar] most likely also will re-record the 2nd album, 'Stormblåst' [originally released in 1996 via Cacophonous Records], sometime in 2005. More info as soon shit hits the fan!"

Stormblast was the best release from them in my opinion. But I don't think it will be in english. Hopefully it wont

when i saw dimmu...silenoz mentioned something about this. he said cacophonous was ripping them off somehow and they had to re-record stormblast for some reason or another, and that that was the only reason they were gonna re-record it

stormblast is the best dimmu album by faaar
why re-record it though, giving it a new production will only hinder its greatness. i mean, its not like black sabbath would re-record paranoid.

I'm a big fan of Stormblast, but I think that the production on the ablum is very cohesive to the songwriting... I'm interested to see where they go with this.

remastering!
re-recording (although interesting) smells money all the way....
btw Stormblast is, as said, by FAR the best album of Dimmu Borgir. I can't see how they can recreate the haunting feeling of those keyboards with a crispy clean sound... the only dodgy thing on that album were the vocals and hopefully now they'll be better...

The album was on a different label, sounds like they need to re-record it so they can keep the rights to it.
Dimmu is fucking great!
Check out Behemoth's new disc 'Demigod' it friggin shreds!

a few things, probably will not be in english, if you check out the inserts to the first 2(re-releases) one of them says something about not converting to english because the songs were done in their native tongue... also they have a few new songs in norsk as well so there would be no point in converting it anyway, as far as re-recording the new album it will be interesting to see how it will turn out, if they're going to do it a little lazily and not hit everything as a lot of bands tend to do when they redo albums, will the drums be real? how much of the old album will be redone? all of it or 2/3? 4/5? and is the production going to be as good as the last album or something along the lines of spiritual black dimmensions, or even like the original style of production? i hope it doesn't disappoint too many of us!
