DIMEBAG's Official Clothing Line To Move Forward - Jan. 6, 2005
Dirtbag Clothing has issued the following update regarding the status of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's official clothing line, Dimebag Hardware:

"For the past month, Dirtbag Clothing has been flooded with e-mails and phone calls from Dimebag Darrell fans throughout the world inquiring about the status of the Dimebag Hardware line of clothing. To set the record straight, the decision has been made to move forward. Samples of the new Dimebag Hardware line will be on display at the Krank Amps booth at the NAMM show [in Anaheim, CA in late January].

"The line will consist of tee shirts, sweatshirts, hats, work shirts, and camo shorts... all of which were designed by Dime.

Prices will be fair, and this product will NOT be made by the same asshole opportunists on ebay! We at Dirtbag have not charged a cent for the time we have put into this project and we will not be "raking in the bucks". what we will do is help Rita produce the line of clothing that Dime wanted!

Very good of you to do that. None of us want Dimebag's death exploited for profit's sake.

BTW, nice pics of Dime and your crew. Made me sad thinking that he's gone. Damn that fucker Nathan Gale to hell.

Peace.

RIP Dimebag

of course dirtbag clothing will make money off of this... thats what businesses do. Dime had this lined up well before he died. This clothing line is not some fly by night thing someone dreamt up on dec.9th. However, I do wonder how much the prices will be and could have been before dec. 8

Hey poop, you can speculate as much as you want, the truth is a majority of the percentage will be going directly to the family, and just so you know this clothing line has been in the works for over a year. oh.. and by the way the money we do make will be donated to charity. thanks for your input.

The clothing line will be fair and be quality with no huge prices. I think it'll be good, Dime shouldnt have anything held back just because he died. nothing should hold dime back!

Like I said before, prices will not be outrageous I would say no more than $15-$18. People can talk all they want about exploitation and how much money we're going to make etc.. it's all bullshit!

I want to make it very clear that we Dirtbag has spent a lot of time and money on this project, we're a still a small company and we won't be retiring or heading to the Bahamas on our private jet once we start selling this product. Once you factor in product costs, overhead, fulfillment, design, webhosting etc. we may break even!

If you're going t talk shit about what we're doing that's fine.. just know what the facts are before you rip into us!

Hey man, don't sweat it. You just aren't going to win on this forum. Most people don't even hate the shit they bitch about on here... they just like to bitch. They really couldn't give a shit about the topic they're ranting about. I'm sure you're going to have a cool line of stuff and who would blame you for wanting to get paid for doing the work. Dime was a cool dude and it's obvious that this isn't an attempt to cash in on his name (otherwise the shit wouldn've been up on eBay the day after his murder). I say the longer we see Dime's name on stuff and remember how cool he was... the better!

I personally want to get my hands on anything related to Dime (upcoming Guitar World tribute, maybe some shirts from Dirtbag etc.) from legitimate business ventures whose people really gave a shit about the man. Reasonable people can tell the difference from the vultures. Anyone know where to get a photo of Dime and Rita? I don't believe I've seen her and it's just my curiosity picking at me. BTW, bdmax48, that jacket reminds me of that line from Chris Farley in Hollywood Ninja, "Who shot the couch?!" (no pun intended). Pretty "out there" but I'm sure Dime was just fucking around, who cares? Hail Dime!

Would Dimebag EVER have bought clothes from a clothing line? No. He wold've bought simple jeans and Ts and flannel from wherever it was cheapest/goodest. Emulate him and do the same; don't be suckers.

O.K., everyone just forget you cared about Dime and while you're at it, forget that most of the world revolves around capitalist venture. Duh, come on, BUSINESS is not innately evil. Have you not reflected on his passing and wanted to re-discover his music and stuff associated with him? If not, fine. I have, and unfortunately, I guess, shit costs money, so I'm buyin'. It surprises you people want Pantera albums, Damageplan albums, and merch? Turn a blind eye then, the rest of us will buy Dime's shit.

nope. I don't see it.

Okay folks, let's see, do you really think Dime would want all of his business ventures and all of his investments to just end with his death? I don't think so. I might be very cocky to presume this, but Dime seemed to always want the party to keep going. He probably would have wanted this to continue, and they wouldn't be able to distribute ONE SINGLE THING of Darrell's in his name without prior consent.

Has anyone stopped to think that in business ventures and whatnot, that precautions are taken so that in case something bad happens (like death, for instance) that all parties agree to stipulations as to what happens afterwards, that are in the best interests of all those involved? This isn't a decision for metal fans to make, it's a decision for Rita, Vinnie, and the rest of those close to Dime to make. You know, the people who REALLY talked to him every day, ate with him, loved him in person??

For metal fans to condemn this, is a direct slap in the face to Dime's family, and Dimebag himself. The people WHO TRULY MATTER in this situation are confident and positive about keeping Darrell's business ventures active, so who the fuck are we to question the wishes of those who loved him and worked with him more than anyone else. If you don't like it, don't buy it, and have some respect for Darrell's common sense.

THIS.....IS......A......FUCKING......FORUM!! were poeple say there opinions on the situation who are you to say dimes fans cant say that it should keep going i just think you come on here to piss everyone off well guess what no one wants to fear it so just shut the fuck up ik i said people are intitled to their opinion but if you have nothing good to say about the concept then dont say it at all

Wow, you're a moron.

My post was directed at those against Dirtbag Clothing. My post was directed at those who think continuing with Dimes' clothing line is 'cashing in on his death'. It's not cashing in on his death, oh brilliant one. And yeah, this is a forum, wow, big surprise. And the people I was referring to who 'really matter' are Dime's family, his close friends, Rita, and his former business partners. THEY are who matter MOST concerning Dime's business affairs, and they should be the one's to dictate what will happen to Dime's estates, NOT US!!! Are you still confused?

If you are a 'fan' of Dimebag, you'd want to respect the wishes of those closest to him, and if those wishes are to continue his clothing line, then we should respect it without accusing someone of automatically profiting on Dime's death. So, just who am I trying to come on here to piss off?

you could open a bank account and ask ppl to donate, if they want....
and spare me the whole, to help dimebag's family, dimebag's family receives the royalties etc etc... they have organised, all those concerts etc etc...
this is no better than the opportunists on EBAY ! in my mind.

you should only say this is a signature line of clothing inspired/designed, whatever by dime. period....

When are you people going to realize that this line of clothing isn't a fucking memorial!!! This was Dime's project BEFORE he was murdered. It was something he WANTED to do! Stop trying to protect the world... no one is being hurt here... no one's memory is being tainted. Just because Dime is gone doesn't mean everyone else's lifes don't go on. Are you going to bitch this much when the Damage Plan dvd ends up getting released? I'd bet a sizeable amount of cash that one does in the next year.
