KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Singer Forced To Sit Out Toronto Concert - Jan. 10, 2005
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Howard Jones was forced to sit out the band's performance in Toronto on Sunday (Jan. 9) due to a "blown-out" throat (as guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz put it in a public announcement before their set). Trevor Phipps from support act UNEARTH joined KILLSWITCH ENGAGE on stage for a few songs, despite having little knowledge of the lyrics. Two fans who apparently knew the songs were also pulled from the crowd to help out in the vocal department, with one managing to sing the entire song "When Darkness Falls". But after four tracks, and a tired Phipps, the band called it a night.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's set list for the Toronto show on January 9 (without singer Howard Jones!):

01. Numbered Days
02. Life to Lifeless
03. Fixation on the Darkness
04. My Last Serenade

(Thanks: Anthony Durante)

I bet it was pretty funny to see fans get up there and sing, lol. And I would have also been really interested to see how Trevor would have handled the job if he actually knew the lyrics. It was pretty cool that they at least tried to improvise something before completely giving up though; a lot more than can be said for most bands these days.

Is one tough MF...so I'm sure it was somewhat serious
Hard to believe that none of the fans knew the lyrics, being that the times I've seen them it seems like the fans know the lyrics.

Why didn't Adam D. Sing?...I would of thought he could handle some

Personally i think Revor Philpps is a bit of a better singer, so ir probally wasn't that bad, i'd have liked to have seen it. If he was more familiar with the lyrics it would have been awesome.

Whoever wrote this is an idiot. I was at that show last night, me and a few friends drove from NJ to Toronto for it. The guy from Unearth was terrible. I comend his effort in helping out Killswitch, but he didnt know the songs really, or the lyrics. The fan they brought on stage during fixation on the darkness was better...and knew most of the words. The set list was this, not what they posted up there. Whoever did that is either A.)an idiot B.)doesnt know the song names c.)A complete tool

1.)Numbered Days
2.)Life to Lifeless
3.)Fixation on the Darkness
4.)My Last serenade

"european metal?" oh yeah..you mean nerd metal. KSE doesn't claim to be a metal band?..last I heard anyway.

That's cool that fan's got to sing; and just cuz howard bluew out his vocal chords doesn't make him a pussy; ALthough his vocal chords should be kind of trained by now, but still doesn't make him a pussy.
