IRON MAIDEN To Headline England's LEEDS FESTIVAL?

According to LeedsToday.net, IRON MAIDEN are being tipped as one of the main attractions at England's Leeds Festival, which is due to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Bramham Park, near Wetherby, its home since 2003.
If the rumors prove to be true then MAIDEN's capture will be something of a coup.
The band are currently enjoying one of their biggest hits in years, with the re-release of their 1982 single, "The Number of the Beast", going into the charts at No. 3 on Sunday.
They also remain a hugely popular live act, recently selling nearly 90,000 tickets in the space of a few hours for a series of dates in Scandinavia.
Other stars said to be in the frame for this year's festival, meanwhile, include British guitar outfit MUSE and New York art-rockers THE STROKES.
More than 50,000 fans attended last summer, when the bill included MORRISSEY, THE DARKNESS and 50 CENT.

got bottled and booed off stage. He was hit in the head with a camping chair at one point. the same thing happened to the Rasmus at the same festival, and to Good Charlotte and Primal Scream the year before.
say what you want about the Reading/Leeds festival, but they forcefully explain to the festival organisers who they do and don't like

Off the topic a little, but everybody needs to check out Sirius Satelite Radio....they're playing new cuts (yes, that was plural) from the new Judas Priest CD. Man this could be a great year for Old School Metal!!!!

.... good charlotte got bottled, they were booed of stage and they even insulted the crowd, lol, i didnt go to 2004 reading cause the lineup was sooo bad, but if maiden are playing them i am deffo going to this reading :D

if i was anywhere near charlotte or 50 cent i wouldnt have time to throw bottles at them as id be too busy stabbing them - just like at download last year when i was laughing so much at the hives getting shit thrown at them - that for a moment i had to stop it.

I remember seeing Motorhead opening up for Faster Pussycat and Pretty Boy Floyd. People were flinging all sorts of shit at Lemmy. They did finish their set, but they had to dodge and duck during most of it. Guess most in the crowd didn't know that Motorhead is more or less a joke band and they need to be taken as such. Lemmy sounded like shit...like expected...and they were loud. PBF and FP kicked ass. Just a tighter heavier sound. OH!!! Mickey Dee got hit with a sandwich!

For sharing an experience of mine. Shit, at least I didn't tell all of the story. Lemmy got wasted and passed out at the bar. Taime Downe was seen in the parking lot sucking face with Steve "Sex" Summers of PBF. This was before the bestiality and gay gangbang rumors involving these two bands began to circulate. Granted, Motorhead was a little out of their element at this gig. They did play Ace of Spades to some minor applause. I think that song was featured on "The Young Ones" or some show on MTV.

if you're gonna get maiden on a show then you oughta not get a bunch of pussy assed bands on the bill too. it just looks terrible for metal to even be associated with the strokes or any of that shit. how about some king diamond. or hammerfall. or blind guardian. or kreator. or something other than gay butt pounder bands. if youre gonna go metal..........GO METAL ALL THE WAY!! when Leeds and Download had the same lineups on different days? Metallica/System of a Down did the first day at one and the
last day at the other (or something like that)? No reason why
Maiden couldn't do the same thing.
