RAMONES: 'End Of The Century' Documentary To Receive Television Debut - Jan. 12, 2005
"End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones", the inside story of the seminal punk band, will air on PBS on April 26 as part of Independent Lens' April Music Month.

Tracing the history of the band, from its unlikely origins through its star-crossed career, bitter demise, and the sad fates of Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny, "End of the Century" is described as "a vibrant, candid document of one of the most influential groups in the history of rock." Featuring interviews with all the band members as well as countless others, including Deborah Harry, the late Joe Strummer, Legs McNeil and Eddie Vedder, "End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones", directed by Jim Fields and Michael Gramaglia, will have its television debut on the PBS series "Independent Lens", hosted by Susan Sarandon.

The program's interactive companion web site features detailed information about the film, including an interview with the filmmakers, cast and crew bios, as well as links and resources pertaining to the film's subject matter. The site also features a "talkback" section for viewers to share their ideas and opinions, preview clips of the film and more.

of Ramones fans, who have to endure all the crappy pop-punk that's come along and outsold the true masters of the form?
It used to be saying you liked punk rock was agood thing. Now it's just embarassing.

Are the Ramones mentioned on here? They were awful! No talent. Just in the right place at the right time. Sort of like Motorhead was.

DemonFilth, are you insane? How can you say they are talentless. While maybe not the best musicians, they kicked ass. And why the right place right time? Considering they were far from punk at the time, which was all snot faced oi save the queen political lameness, how were they right place right time? While basic, they are some of the most influential artists of all time.

you're cracking me up!

Right place at the right time?

More like:

AHEAD OF THEIR TIME.

Along with Motorhead.

Unlike the copycat, hop-on-whatever-bandwagon kinds of bands I'm sure you listen to.

Face it: If not for trailblazing "no talent" bands like Ramones and Motorhead, thrash metal probably wouldn't have happened. Then we'd just have old Black Sabbath records or 80's bubblegum hair metal to chose betwen.

Kick ass no matter what any realy NO TALENT LOSER on blabbermouth has to say. The thing is that people will remember the Ramones forever unlike these crap talkers .. no one will remember YOU when you die. None of us uncluding me will NOT be remembered like the Ramones unless we do something like they did which I doubt we will 'cause were on Blabbermouth talking about successful bands unlike our pathetic lives : (

Great fuckin post.

The Ramones paved the way for bands like Black Flag,Bad Brains,Blondie,X and influenced a generation of new musicians. To say they were just in the right place at the right time is a joke.

All of the bands you just mentioned are jokes! Bad Brains? Come on. You probably pretend to like the Misfits as well. I remember when Metallica got big around the Master of Pups days everyone pretended to be a fan of the Misfits. They sucked bleeding cum filled assholes.

I'm a much bigger Misfits fan than I am Ramones fan, DemonFilth. You can ask Jerry Only, the Ramones gave way for much of the music of that time.

FIRST OF ALL, RAMONES RULES. YES.

OK, HERE'S THE DEAL. RAMONES CAME UP WITH A RECIPE. THEY COULD'VE PLAYED BLUES OR PROGRESSIVE, BUT THEY DECIDED TO STICK WITH A METHOD ON THE RECORDS AND ON STAGE.

DOESN'T MEAN THEY * really * KNEW JUST 3 CHORDS, MORONS. IT'S WHAT THEY WANTED TO DO. YOU HAVE TO SEE WHERE THEY COME FROM. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THEN YOU DON'T.

You're wrong on so many levels.

The Ramones did what they wanted, and we were happy to go along for the ride.

They set the trend, not followed it.

Then again, by the sounds of it, you were still in diapers at the time they came on scene.

Your loss.
