GUNS N' ROSES Bassist: 'Chinese Democracy' To Be Released In April

For those who attended the quasi-riot at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center in December 2002 due to the GUNS N' ROSES no-show, GNR bassist Tommy Stinson claims the band is coming back and will actually perform this time. "We owe Philly," Stinson told Ed Condran of SouthPhillyReview.com. He wouldn't elaborate about the aforementioned debacle. "That's all still in litigation." But he promised that GN'R would be on the road this year after the release of "Chinese Democracy" in April. (Thanks: TheNewGuns.com)

it would be nice to get this over with. It will never live up to the hype. It would be best for Axl to get it over with sooner then later, then get another album out within a year after its release so he can get a fresh start.
I think one thing people forget is Axl is not an idiot when it comes to composing music. GNR Illusion 1 & 2 were just great put together albums both lyrically and musically. Nothing has capture the raw energy of Appetiate for Destruction to this day. I'm sure whenever Chinese Democracy drops it will be a solid album. But with the hype and the waiting it will be criticed very hard.

No, I've been collecting live bootlegs since 2001 from all of their shows. I've heard the following tracks. They aren't studio though, so they could change.
Madagascar
Chinese Democrazy
The Blues
Catcher in the Rye
Silkworms (Wierd song)
Oh My God (Not sure if it will be on Chi Dem since it was already released)
Okay, I guess that's 6, not 8. I also heard some sound clips from the studio tracks on the radio when they were advertising the 2002 tour.

Damn, that's right... it was Rhiad that I had heard... but I do know that Catcher in the Rye is another working title for the album.
And hurricainehugo, I totally agree with you! I think Madagascar is an incredible song. The voice recordings really add to it... kind reminds of Civil War or the voice clip in Knockin' On Heaven's Door, but 10 times better than both songs. I think it beats the fuck out of November Rain. I think the only 2 GNR songs that I like better than Madagascar are Estranged and Rocket Queen.
