BLOODSTAINED DUSK Guitarist/Vocalist Dies In Car Crash - Jan. 26, 2005
On the night of January 24, Anthony Patrick Panter (a.k.a. Daggeth), vocalist/guitarist of the Huntsville, AL-based black metal band BLOODSTAINED DUSK, was killed in a terrible car crash on his way home. He was 24 years of age.

BLOODSTAINED DUSK released two CDs on Baphomet Records: a reissue of their self-financed demo, "Thy Legions Reign Over Christendom", and the cult classic, "Dirge Of Death's Silence". They also released a number of self-financed cassette demos and appeared on numerous compilation albums. In 2003, they toured the U.S. as direct support for death metal legends MONSTROSITY. Their most recent release was 2004's "Continuance of Evil" on Black Flame Records.

A memorial for Panter was attended by his bandmates, family, friends, fans and members of acts such as FLESHTIZED, SPINECAST, CONVERGENCE FROM WITHIN, TEMPLE OF BLOOD and more. He will be missed.

Is up with all the great artists dying? This has been a very tragic start of the new millenium. I really liked this band a lot, one of the only good black metal bands from USA. Sad, sad tragic lost.

Anthony was so young. The world loses another great talent. What could have been.....

All respects to his family, friends and band members.

Death is NOT the end...
In Crowley's words, Patrick's unambigous will was fulfilled this lifetime.
He was to create the magnificent brutal brilliance he did with Blood Stained Dusk.
Patrick has stepped away from being enslaved by the fleshrind.
He is manifesting on higher planes than we can even conceive.
He is free now. My condolences to his brothers in arms, friends and family.
May they continue to create as he would have wanted them to.

RIP my friend.

Patrick I will miss you. You were a brightly shining star among the duldrums of the ordinary. Thank you for bringing so much inspiration and passion to the world.

I will miss the good times at waffle house hanging out with the guys and the nights at Blackout where we'd thrash on the dancefloor. I'll miss running my fingers through your hair and I'll always remember your fabulous smile and that night after the show in Birmingham where all you guys had to take off your corpsepaint before that podunk Awful Waffle would let you guys in.

Hails, my brother. You will live on in my memory as one of the most genuine people I've ever known.
