OBITUARY To Begin Recording New Album Next Month

Legendary death metal band OBITUARY will enter Red Room studios in Tampa, Florida on February 17 to begin recording their new album, tentatively due this summer via Roadrunner Records.
The band's as-yet-untitled new CD will mark their first collection of new songs since 1997's "Back From the Dead".
In related news, OBITUARY guitarist Trevor Peres' side project, CATASTROPHIC, will be teaming up with ABSCESS and DIVINE EMPIRE for a European tour between April 24 and May 5 (including an appearance at Germany's Fuck the Commerce festival). CATASTROPHIC will be touring in support of their newly recorded sophomore album, "Apathy's Warm Embrace", tentatively due later in the year through an as-yet-undetermined label.
CATASTROPHIC, who are currently unsigned, released their debut album, "The Cleansing", in 2001 via Metal Blade Records.

About time the new record gets out. now a FULL BLOWN US tour with some DECENT support bands, ie malevolent creation krisiun cryptopsy spawn of possession etc would be damn nice too FUCKING METAL!!!

There's not one single solitary Obituary album i don't like.
My fave ones are "Slowly We Rot" and "World Demise", but i like all of them, including "Dead" and "Anthology".
I really like the more experimental tracks such as "Kill for Me" and "Bullituary" too. Obituary are great, they've always been the new Celtic Frost to me.
And talking about CF, i hope they record "Dethroned Emperor", live it sounds great, plus they've already done "Circle of the Tyrants" and the Frost are their main influence so why not? Long Live Obituary.

Yeah, They fuckin storm!!!!!!Can't wait for a tour!!!! I hope they don't get "all mtv" on us!!!And tour with Shadows fall or Unearth!!!!Yuck!!!!!! I liked em when they had Murphy with "Cause of death"!!!!!!But the sad thing is .......Alan can't play the Murphy solo's live ......just like Destruction can't do the Harry solo's live.
