DISSECTION Mainman: We Are Not Racist, Just Satanic

Guitarist/vocalist Jon Nödtveidt of the reactivated Swedish death metallers DISSECTION has issued the following statement via the group's official web site:
"There have been rumors and allegations surrounding the band and I, we want our fans to know and to make it a point that it is not and never has been part of our policy or philosophy to be a part of racism and what it stands for. DISSECTION is a SATANIC band and the REBIRTH OF DISSECTION tour is our focus into bringing all our ANTI-COSMIC METAL OF DEATH!"
As previously reported, DISSECTION will headline Norway's Inferno Festival on March 26. They will also be performing at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany in early August.
DISSECTION released a comeback single/EP, "Maha Kali", last November via Escapi Music/Screaming Ferret Wreckords. The group's current lineup is completed by Set Teitan (guitar, ABORYM, BLOODLINE), Brice Leclercq (bass guitar, NIGHTRAGE) and Thomas Asklund (drums, DARK FUNERAL, INFERNAL, DAWN).

Well, theyre never coming here since jon is nuts anyway. And this anti-cosmic metal of death? If it all sounds like Maha Kali then it only kills by the listener killing himself out of boredom. Storm of the lights bane it isnt.

And i'm amazed at the ignorance of people on this thread: Satanism isn't about "wearing black and worshipping the underworld" it's about being yourself and a strong individual. Satanists don't believe in Satan they believe in themselves.

how he has to make it clear that he isn't racist. Seriously, if he is, who cares? If he isn't running around preaching it, then that's his own damn right. What Black Metal band hasn't been tagged with the racist label? I think it's pathetic how people can listen to songs about hate, killing, murder, and so on... and then get all riled up about someone not liking someone because of their color. How is this any different than hating someone for their beliefs?

Satanist and Satan worshipper are too completely different things. Satanism is its own philosophy. Stan worsshipping is an opposite to christianity. Period.
I have based my beliefs and life on satanism since 1986 and feel great. IO don´t follow the whole concept. I have found some things that fit me. Some other things I have found from elsewhere. I believe in me and I love my loved ones. Others I don´t care.

Man if it was the cult of yourself it would have been called Selfism and not Satanism. In your case Satanism is an improper definition.

Explain me a thing, why calling a thing with a name of another?
Just call it philosophy, why linking things to one ipotetical religion (Satanism)?
Satan is the name of the Devil, call other things with their proper names.

The name "Satan" is taken from a Hebrew word that means "against." Satanism is about being against religion of ALL forms because it is religion that has been driving the world into the ground for the past few thousand years. Try to tell me that religion is not the main reason that everyone in the world is trying to kill each other.

Indulgence, not compulsion is mentioned by the Church of Satan. I must say that I do agree with many of your points made. I'm glad to see that some people still have a brain in their head. I do have some Satanic beliefs, in fact, most of then are, but not all of them fit my way of thinking.
