CRADLE OF FILTH T-Shirt Lands British Man In Court

Norfolk Eastern Daily Press is reporting that a British man who wore a heavy metal band T-shirt bearing an insulting picture and slogan pleaded guilty Monday (Jan. 31) to religiously aggravated offensive conduct. Dale Wilson, 35, of Northfields, Norwich, was arrested by two police officers in The Avenues as he walked to a local newsagent to buy some tobacco on Halloween wearing a T-shirt promoting Ipswich band CRADLE OF FILTH. The front of the T-shirt showed a sexual image of a nun while the back carried an extremely offensive reference to Jesus ("Jesus Is A Cunt"). He pleaded guilty to the charge and also admitted possession of a Stanley knife when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Monday. Sentencing was adjourned for reports until March 11 and Judge Simon Barham warned him that all sentencing options would be open. Wilson was given conditional bail pending the next hearing.

I won't argue against that, but this sort of thing happens here too. Just up the road from my town, some kid was arrested for his Marilyn Manson shirt. It got lots of press here. Same thing happened to a kid in a Korn shirt. I don't like either band, or Cradle, for that matter, but that sort of thing is ridiculous.
That Cradle shirt is tasteless even in my godless eyes, but it is mildly amusing.

um this tshirt has been around since like 97, and this guy called rob kenyon got taken to court that year and cradle paid for his fine....so its kind of old news even if it happened again. also, if you want to see tshirts that are more eyebrow raising, check out akercockes range which are.....hmmm, interesting...

I can tell you this happens more often than you think. the law is against blasphemous slogans not offensive ones, so thus a Inspiral Carpets "cool as fuck" t shirt is ok whereas a Deicide "fuck your god" is not.
bearing in mind that a law is soon to be passed in the Uk that in theory makes bands such as Deicide and Marduk illegal, I'd say the Uk going through yet another puritan stage at the moment

sad, why arrest some guy of what it says on his shirt when there are many drug dealers and criminals out there. the police have it all wrong.

...in the sense that it is just a shirt and the police really have bigger fish to fry but Breaker Metal is right what kind of adult would wear a shirt like this, my guess is a single lonely man who lives in a one bedroom apartment probably above a adult video store or something and the only sex he can get depends on how much money he has in his walet because no self respecting woman would have anything do with a dork who would wear a shirt like this one.

Firstly, The Spelling here is Abysmal. it should be Himself, and Also, should be Mayhem. Grammar - This Sentence SHOULD Read - Mayhem does not even like Black Metal, He Said so himself.
Last, but by NO MEANS Least, Knowledge. I'm not quite sure WHO mayham is, I'd assume he means MAYHEM, but, of course, this makes no sense. who he ACTUALLY Means, is Count Grishnackh. Who Wasn't in Mayhem anyway, he was in Burzum. Admittedly, he killed Euronymous, OF Mayhem, but this is no excuse, you could NEVER get mixed up on this. He has the BASIC Fact right, Grishnackh (Real Name Varg Vikernes) has Denounced his Black Metal lifestyle, during his time in Trondberg prison.
So, Looks like one in the eye for Black Metal, if the above guy considers himself Black Metal, then there is a HUGE problem in the scene. Cradle of Filth, Although I like them, are No Longer Black Metal.
