LED ZEPPELIN Members To Attend Ceremony

Former LED ZEPPELIN members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones will be on hand at a ceremony Saturday night in Los Angeles to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy, according to ABC ePrep.
"The Lifetime Achievement, Trustees and Technical Grammy Awards recognize music people who have made a lasting contribution to culture around the world," said Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy in a statement last month.
"These profoundly inspiring figures are being honored as legendary performers and archetypal musicians, cultural ambassadors, and technical visionaries," Portnow added. "Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy that has positively affected multiple generations, and will continue to influence generations to come."
The Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement awards will be handed out Feb. 12, one day before the 47th annual Grammy Awards are presented in Los Angeles.

Never really got into Zeppelin.. they have a few songs that are cool but the radio staion here in L.A 95.5 KLOS plays their music like crazy all day.

This might the first step towards a Led Zeppelin Tour this summer.
I heard rumors on SIRIUS that Sharon Osbourne was trying to talk Plant, Page and Jones into reforming the band and headlining this summers Ozzfest.
If they won't do it, Iron Maiden might be the other option to headline.
Just what I heard.
I don't know how legit the rumor is.

Yeah I think they still do... I was listen to that station ALOT when I had my old car that only worked for radio so I would listen to Howard in the morning and KLOS in the afternoon for the music ONLY if it was good... if not i'd tune back to hear Tom Leykis. I NEVER got into listening to M & B.. don't care for them at all but I think they're still on there.

KLOS is weak, but of course all LA radio sucks. Why is it whenever I leave LA county they have the best (I am deprived OK) metal stations.

I know Plant's committed to a tsunami relief benefit concert next
week in Bristol, UK...don't remember which day; I think it's either
Thursday or Saturday. He's also finishing up his next album and
getting ready for a short US tour on his way to SXSW in Austin, TX in mid-March; he's giving the keynote address at that. I guess
he felt that he couldn't take the time.

If Zep were to tour, I sincerely hope that they would in no way shape or form be affiliated with Ozzfest. Ozzfest has become as artistically viable as Lilith Fair these days. Also only a handfull of drummers could do any justice to a "reunion". Danny Carey from Tool, Tim Alexander from Primus, Dave Grohl, Josh Freese (APC) to name a few. Yet I think Rob Plant is getting waaay too senile to do any old zep tunes any justice. I also can't get over the fact that not only did zep give that asshole Puffy the permission to rip off Kashmir, but Paige fucken played with him. As much as I love old zep, I just dont find them credible any more (with the exception of John Paul Jones he's stuck to his guns pretty much)
